It's official! And it'll be 300USD! And old fat model will become cheaper too! I'm so damned lazy, so I'll give you the source.

The texture looks a bit different too. Not that it matters much. As long as it performs as well as the bigger model.

I'm not sure though if they will end production of the fat one and thus let stocks of it run out starting this year. I guess we'll know more in the press conference.
Either way, damn, it's one step closer (for me) to get my own PS3. Damn, I wanna play Ridge Racer 7 for myself (along with MGS4 and upcoming Gran Turismo).
Hot damn indeed

If it doesn't... then it'll be worth getting.
I can't say I like the "smaller" PS models. I've heard and seen a lot of horror stories related to PSOne and PS2 Slim consoles that have a very short lifespan.

My friend had a small PSOne & he's had that for YEARS (until they replaced it w/ PS2) & I've had my PS2 Slim for maybe 4, possibly 5 years & I modded it w/ the FlipTop/Swap Magic about 3 years ago & it still works fine.

I'm kinda glad that Sony is cutting the bundled Ethernet cable. Its something 95% of people don't use (Unless their cable provider is reasonably intelligent. Most cable boxes have an ethernet port on the back that provides internet connectivity, but most cable operators fail to enable it.) I wish they would replace the ethernet cable with a free HDMI cable >_>

By the by, for those that might have mentioned adhoc party, there's already a filing for it to be released in North America.

First-gen console releases are historically pretty unreliable, probably going to wait for a few revisions until I consider picking one up.

I was going to get a second one just for me, but I have the PS2 with parents...so I kinda hope this one has B/W
