Marketplace Rating: 0 | Getting a new FPS I want to get a new FPS, but I can't decide which one to get, having never personally played any of the ones that look good. The ones I'm looking at are Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2142 (all for PC). So if you know these games, any advice on which to get would be appreciated. If there's another good game that isn't one of those three, but you still think I should get it, feel free to tell me that as well. I already have all the Counter-strikes, all the Quakes, Ut2k4, and FEAR (the original, not the expansion).
Thanks.

We have a dedicated 32 player titan server, and if you don't suck, we are recruiting.
Oh, Don't get battlefield 2... just don't. I can't even go back to it anymore, I'm just tired of the asshole community, and players on it in general. Unbalanced game play.... Not to mention Titan mode, is so much more fun than conquest.
Uh, CoD2 is a great game, but if I had to pick one I'd go with 2142. Its pretty old now, you should be able to pick it up for cheap anyway. Get both.

Its really all depending on what your tastes are. If you like urban combat, go with BF2 or CoD2 (between the 2, pick your era); if you like futuristic FPS games, go with BF2142.

I've played the Call of Duty 2 demo that they had set up in stores on the 360 about 5 billion times, and it's really fun, and the fact that it's the second most popular game on Xfire makes it even more enticing. However, I love massive conquest-type games in general, and the Battlefield series is extremely popular so I definitely wouldn't mind getting into it. Comparing 2 and 2142 to me is like comparing two totally different genres because futuristic shooters and realistic war games have totally different feels to them. Pretty much every gaming site has ranked BF2 as one of the greatest shooters ever and it has like 4 expansions and stuff so I was always leaning towards that one, but now people are saying 2142 is better? I'm confused.
Also I was looking at the FEAR expansion pack, and I'm surprised nobody mentioned it. It's supposedly really good, but I guess it can't hold up to the multiplayer capabilities of BF or CoD? My brother might be getting it, so I guess I'll be able to see if it's any good when he plays it.

but seriously, I'd have to suggest either CoD3 or 2142 on this one. I've only played CoD3 on a Wii, but it was some of the best fun I've had on the Wii yet.
2142, however, appeals to the tech-geek inside of me (I've been playing Mechwarrior since the original one on DOS) and the Titan system is, quite frankly, amazing.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I think I'm going to get BF2. From what I hear, BF2 and 2142 are extremely similar in their gameplay, but BF2 has a lot of expansions and extra stuff. I'll probably get 2142 eventually, but BF2 sounds like a better choice to start with.
