sorry, IS much harder than the bosses in either Halo 1&2. Now, back to the topic at hand.

I mean, seriously.
Anyway, yes, I have played Half Life 1, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Ep 1 and I am currently working on finishing Half Life: Decay with a friend.
I really like how Valve/Gearbox worked the series so that almost everything works together to tell the story, especially the first half of the series.
I mean, playing through the first few parts of Decay reveals that the protagonists in that story were the ones who raised the material to Freeman that caused him to blow the place. They also spent alot of time with Rosenberg who met up with Barney in Blue Shift. I mean, its so cool how everything works together.
Episode 1 was so short though, and I'm waiting for Episode 2 obviously.

I hate how people can spout about Halo being a great game. The game itself is so lackluster in comparison to Half Life / Half Life 2. Hell, I'd rather play Half Life on the console than the PC version of Halo. The people at VALVe sure now how to tell a story, and they continually push the right emotional buttons to make sure that the player is getting the best experience.
Like, for instance, there will be cues to direct the player to look at something. Usually "look, over there!' shouted by somebody, or a loud bang that makes you twirl around to look, or whatever. These subtle things are wonderful in giving a person a storyline without forcing it.
And I guess I buck the trend because I really like Steam, and it's distro methods. Lost the CD to a game that you had already purchased? Re-download it! Want to skip the middle man and get HL:Episode 1 for 19.99? You can do that too! It's a shame that VALVe can't cut the cost of online purchases due to the fact that the distributor of the physical copies would lose some money.
I guess I will go play some DoD:S today.

I like the Half Life games because the gameplay is almost entirely story based. You can't get very far expecting to do stuff just for the sake of doing it. You have reasons to hit or not hit a switch, to open or not open a door etc.
Another thing I like about Valve, or actually Steam, is the tools it provides, such as Hammer level editor. I actually found that kind of neat that they provide tools to help create your own maps and such.
Speaking of Half Life stuff, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Team Fortress, or Garry's mod for that matter (I tried it out but I still haven't figured it out yet).

Total Tokens: 240,727,681.67 Donate Tokens | Yeah, I heard about the free weekend. I already had purchased DoD:S a while back on a whim and I never really played it, since when it just came out the map selection was lackluster and the gameplay wasn't balanced.
I'm very happy for Garry and his GMod being put through steam. He's a good guy, and I've been up to his progress for a while now. He's put a lot of time and effort into something that has given me hours of entertainment, and I'm glad he's getting returns on his efforts.
