Default help with audio cables!

o snap...

As some of you know I juts bought Monster AV cables. I got the wrong item!

These come with fiber optic cables, and although they plug into the PS3, they dont plug into my T.V. My T.V. supports normal audio inputs (RED AND WHITE). Is there an adapter that can make Fiber Optic standard Audio Inputs.

I would imagine not, given that fiber-optic uses light pulses to send data (hence "optical"), and "standard" cables use electrical pulses.

What you're looking for is some type of decoder. Commonly, the streams sent over an optical or coaxial audio cable are encoded (Dolby Digital or DTS). Therefore, you'll need a decoder to be able to decode these streams into their respective channels. In other words, you'll probably have to look for a new receiver that has Dolby Digial and DTS decoding built-in to be in between your PS3 and your TV.

And lol monster cables. What a pile of junk.

I have a Monster S-Video cable but it was all I could find at the time. Honestly.

I think I might be able to get a refund, and new cables but I wanted to see if there was an adapter. I take it there is none. Oh well, hopefully he will reply soon. Because I really dont want to spend any money on something I dont need... like another surrounf sound system, I rather save up for arcade machines, as some of you know. But I wont spend any of it until I know bemani games will still be arounf by then, which I dont know, it is kind of scaring me. How many more IIDX games can there be? I mean every game series has an end (except for like fnal fantasy), but this an arcade game, so its starting to scare me.

Monster cables do have some sort of noise reduction due to lower resistance, but its not humanly noticeable. Its also gold plated, but I don't see why you need gold on TV cables. I want gold on my rings necklaces, not TV cables.

Although the dumbest thing you can do is buy monster HDMI cables. If you buy those, go into public take off your pants and start spanking yourself. HDMI cables make no difference between what you get. The 6 dollar ones are as good as the 60 dollar ones.

Gold gives you a better connection vs using silver IIRC.

not only that, I noticed a big differnce between gold and silver. The gold ones seem to lock into the input jacks, so the connection is a sharp as it can be. But still... no sound.
