Help me with a nasty DRE A few weeks back, I ordered GFDM V for PS2. Stuck it in, and I got about 10 DREs before the game loaded. It soon crashed, and I never got it back up. Did the whole "open it up and clean it out" thing, and tried again, with no success.
I sent it back to the seller, who told me they tested it out on two JPS2s, and that it was fine. They sent it back. Still didn't work. So I decided hey, I'll fiddle with the voltage. I tried EVERY NOTCH on that damn gear, and the only thing that happened was sometimes the DRE screen would pop up earlier. NG
Then a friend who had a copy offered to test mine on his PS2, and if it worked, to send me his. We did this, and mine worked on his so he sent me his copy. It doesn't work. Three PS2s play my game flawlessly so I'm quite sure my PS2 is at fault, despite that I never have any problems with the other disks I tried (DVD, PS one games, FFX Internation, IIDX games, Pop'n games, Rez).
I'm quite fucking pumped for this game, but I'm out of ideas as to how I might get it working. Are there any other methods for fixing DREs that do not involve getting a new one OR placing my current PS2 in mortal peril in the process of fixing it (IE not that hard)?
