Hmm, Japan and US nextgen decisions are different

According to online polls, Japan (as in gamers in Japan) wants the PS3 more than the Wii, about ~55% for PS3 and ~45% for Wii. However in the US, we want the Wii more, and I mean ALOT more. About ~70% want the Wii whereas ~10% want the PS3 (the rest of the votes went for either bothing both, neither, or the X360). It seems Japan and the US think differently about this... But overall, the Wii has the most interest, followed by the X360, then the PS3.

imo its because of hte games that are made for the consoles, for eg, most music games if not all are in ps2, also most good rpgs incudling FF, star ocean etc are also on ps2,
while on the other hand wii and xbox360 have a wider range of fps's like halo and ghost recon

on the wii, i guess people just want to try out a new gen of gaming consoles?

I don't see anything wrong with Japan hyping the PS3 more than Wii; so many Goddamn RPG's were layed down on PS2. Plus PS2 obliterated GC and XB this (last?) generation so people are assuming PS3 will follow the PS2's footsteps.

Well from what i know, Japan has like the highest technology in the world. So the ps3 is more powerful in all ways then the Wii. So yeah! But i'd rather get the Wii even if i was japanese cause the ps3 and no used games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This possibly could be a byproduct of really shoddy marketing for the ps3 here in the US. The Japanese side might have competent PR men on their side.

The poll results are fucked due to respondent selection error. I would hazard that most of the people in the United States don't have a clue what the Wii is, and that the poll results are largely skewed due to most respondents being frequent internet users.
