I could be getting a MVS soon so...

I'd just take the time and get the unibios. Its very nice to not have to worry about what cart you buy. Plus you can put it into any mode you want anyway.

Hang on, MVS or AES?

Carts aren't region locked, only format locked, so a JP MotW should work just fine.

MVS, it comes with Metal Slug already but it was made for Metal slug meaning it has no D button, which I have to add.

I will look into the region locked thing but I didn't think the carts were locked.

The Universe BIOS also undoes that red warning screen that you see when you use unofficial cartridges.
