I'm not omg-hardcore player (like, I don't care much about eraser TST or whatever the hell it's call), but I'm finding the physics to this game really damn weird, especially at turns, or is it just me?
Not sure I also like the fact that 1/2 of the courses were taken out either.
Anyone played it (Japanese version) yet?

But I think I can understand why.
The English version takes longer to release because it needs the permission of Tokyopop (the English names need to be "licensed" from them).
I think this is the most probable reason.
If you can't wait though for the English version of IDAS 4, why not try Maximum Tune version 3?
EDIT:
I'm mistaken. There already is an Initial D version 4 English version. INITIAL D GAMES OFFICIAL WEB SITE
English version cabinet
Some differences (Jap version versus Eng version)
So far, English version of the game is only available in Singapore and Australia (as of July 2007) and also in Hong Kong (which will go along-side the Japanese version cabinets in select stores).
No online feature for English version atm (will be enabled Q4 of 2007)

I'm worried because SoA doesn't like to deal with the card system, says it's not profitable in America (apparently, they're basing that on a few games that they marketed it horribly to, pretty crappy).
All the retarded American names are still on there unfortunately (and the ones Sega got wrong aren't even fixed, i.e. Kent/Kenta is still Danny). This was on the U.S. testing version though, so it might change.

Total Tokens: 552,756.82 Donate Tokens | Actually the card system is profitable globally. It's actually the online system that will spook a number of overseas centers.
Getting broadband is cheap worldwide (1 megabit per second internet is DAMN CHEAP nowadays)....but if SEGA adds a monthly fee to use the online service (ie. what Konami is doing with e-amusement) these may actually scare the operators into refraining from using the service.
In the case of Asia (outside Japan), this may not be a problem as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore are EASY customers as well as in Shanghai in Mainland China (where the cheapest ID version 4 costs LESS THAN 10 AMERICAN CENTS TO PLAY!!!!)
Australia and NZ might join and the internet play areas of North America (Orbit and Lovegetty arcades in Canada) will continue......but for others, it will be scary.
Sure the big-time operators won't hesitate but it's the lower end that are hesistant to make a move.
Anyhow, at least the card system works offline as well........so at least that would lessen the anxiety on the operators.....somewhat.

The card system does great in Asia, but according to Sega, it's flopping (which again makes no sense to me, since Derby Owner's Club, Initial D, and Wangan Midnight all have decent arcade followings with their card systems in tact), perhaps because a large chunk of arcade owners are REALLY cheap or lazy in the States. I can't speak for the European arcades either.

Thing is, atm, THERE IS NO ONLINE. Also, if worse comes to worse, pessimism will come from both sides. Sega may just probably say: "Since majority of overseas video arcades/game centers who bought Intial D Version 4 generally don't give a FUCK to actually connect to our online service, then why the bloody hell should we bother setting up an international gateway???"
Hopefully, select countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China (where there are at least 10 SEGA-OWNED game centers over there) as well as the Aussies and the Canadians could move in to show SEGA that there is demand for online service for this game (even if it is small).
Anyhow, it looks like Danny is now known as Kent (Initial D Version 4 English version 1.0 A). Yet it's weird that they used "DANNY" from Version 2 up to Version 3 of the game.

That's another reason I hope e-amuse does great in America.
What sucks is that I know our Gameworks (which is I believe the only Sega owned game center in America) in Chicago does AWESOME with Initial D and Wangan and would benefit with internet play, but I don't think a lot of the others really push the game as much as the Chicago one does.
I hope they also changed the other horrible Engrish that we got, stuff like "Wait Moments" instead of "Wait a Moment."
