King of Fighters: NeoWave for Xbox: Is it worth getting?

I'm just asking if its worth getting so it can hold me over till I can get XI because thats going to be a while.

But yeah, Neowave is for Xbox in the US and has online play. I just wanted to hear what others have said before I buy it.

NeoWave really isn't a good addition to the series. I also sort of doubt that anyone actually plays it on X-Box Live. That said, it also doesn't work on the 360 so keep that in mind.

Still, it's $20 or less and the online play is completely lag-free from what I hear.

So....yeah, I don't really have a straight answer. If you just want something to play and aren't entirely serious about it, yeah, pick it up. If you are looking for a well-balanced fighting game, I'd walk away from it.

Instead, I'd try to find that US release of KoF 94 Rebout that I've only seen one copy of and would like to have even though I don't own an X-Box. Very rare and it was $20 with online on the X-Box as well.

Wasn't the US release of 94 Rebout canceld because they didn't want to fix the bugs?

How could you have seen a copy if they never released it?

I was under the impression that Neowave was 2D. It has some 3D background elements, but as far as I know the fighting is on a horizontal plane...

Yeah, KOF Maxium Impact sucked. This game features the same gameplay sence 94' but just has 3D backgrounds.

KOF Neowave is basicly a KOF 2002 with ALL the balance and gameplay issues fixed. It's the "KOF2k2 the way it should really be", in some way.

I have it, just because it's cheap and because it's a rare game here in my country. Not bad (I enjoy it more than KOF2k2), but it's not the big deal either. I can surely say XB KOFNW is superior to the original arcade version.

I enjoyed Maximum Impact. I can't see what more people could ask for from a 3d KOF.

Well, except for teams, maybe.

And far as I know, none of the obscure fighters get love on XBL. Especially not Capcom Fighting Evolution.

I have it for my Japanese PS2, and i thought it was pretty cool. It pretty much plays like your traditional KOF. I was kinda disappointed with the last boss, tho.
I didn't think KOF:MI was that bad, either. I don't understand why people knock it. It's basically traditional style KOF with 3-D characters, some 3-D moves, and air combos. I had alot of fun playing it, actually.

from my experience playing GGX2#R on xbox live, it lags, don't give your hopes up that it'll be lag free.

GGXX is hi-res and extremely fast. Far far faster than the online component can keep up with. Samurai Showdown, KoF and the Street Fighter games have pretty much zero lag.

Yeah, I got XI today and I was like "Eh XI is a lot better so fuck NeoWave."

So yeah, thanks for the help on the issue of KOF: NW but I decided not to get it.

Its spelled EHRGEIZ, and don’t knock it, it was a good SQUARE fighter. It will never match the onslaught of awesome that is Tobal.

Tobal will always be for the win.

Maximum Impact 2 is okay though.
