As far as Wii, Nintendo hasn't said how many units they have yet for each region, but it's well over 2mill in total. I wouldn't expect a shortage for the Wii. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6159738...stnews;title;1

Alternatively, Doom is better than Halo because it's old and two dee rite :V | It's people like you who enjoy 3D Contras over 2D Metal Slugs.

WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES | Man I don't like no 3D Contra the fuck are you goin on about
But seriously, all I'm saying is that although old games are definitely fun, there are plenty of reasons to enjoy new ones. If you can't find any of them, well, that's a pity. :\

WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES | The difference in your example is that 3D Contra is hideously broken and not that fun. Halo's actually a well made game. :P

WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES | I go for next gen, though the graphics arent everything in a game, I like much more the first 2D contras than the 3D ones. And in my opinion Contra has more action than metal slug, and metal slug is better for a fun game, and I prefer playing with another player or else it isnt worth it.
I dunno why you ppl are against the next gen systems, I agree that their prices are really high, but the reason I go for them are for their capabilities, innovation, new games... New games can be as fun as the old ones, they just have to stop focusing on impressive graphics and more storylines and fun factors.

Becuase you know, "I, Robot","Starfox", "Stunt Race FX", and a couple of intelevision games are all brand new games.
And Capcom Vs. SNK has been around forever.

It's a mixed bag but Halo was nothing revolutionary for the xbox. Goldeneye did what Halo did, but years before. The only difference was that you could play Halo on Xbox Live (which feels like an isolated piece of lagged shit, but anyway.)
I'm not against the next generation but FUCKING WAIT until both the Wii and PS3 have successfully landed, and have an array of games which aren't launch titles. And perhaps wait until they've revisioned the console and ironed out the bugs. It's only a sensible option.

Write them down and refer to the list later so we can all save a little bit of time.
Sixteen player LAN outside of a PC setting, large outdoor environments as opposed to corridors (I will grant that Goldeneye had some limited outdoor maps, though), extremely intelligent AI on Legendary difficulty, the current industry-standard FPS control scheme, vehicles, and a vastly improved graphical engine, which, like it or not, has remained very easy on the eyes and will remain so for longer than Goldeneye. Some would argue that that last one is unimportant, but I would call those people idiots given the immersion factor afforded by improved visuals. G007 was very, very good for its time but you can't keep holding it up as the gold standard of console shooters, because in every regard except weapons Halo beats it at its own game.

Y'gotta watch out for those cockbiters. They can be nasty.
