I personally think right after THUG came out....the whole series went past it's prime...THUG2 wasn't the tony hawk game I knew...it was all exaggeratedly stupid! maybe THPG would've been the new peak of the TH series, but a lot of people jumped aboard the EA skate boat and sunk down THPG with it's own adaptation of Nail-the-trick!
what do you ppl think?

But then again, I never played the "real" third one, I had the crappy ps1 version that cut out everything that made it new and innovative.

I had every game from the original to Underground, skipped UG2 because what the hell Neversoft, picked up American Skateland used for ten bucks and was pretty disappointed. Going sandbox badly hurt the stage design. Quote:

The on-foot controls in UG were not very good at all and their inclusion led to a fair number of really idiotic challenges.
New THPS titles haven't been relevant since OG skate came out and at this point the only thing THPS games do better is flatland. I'm hoping if and when skate 3 comes out they'll have figured out a way to nail that down. | |

Fixed camera angle which means you can easily skate into a wall. Nice. Also, if you mess up the cop chase, you lose your run stats. And the Spine Transfer was bloody great compared to sodding off-board stuff. And driving. | |

But getting chased by cops was my favorite part....specially with the tazer in 1st person perspective...well, maybe it did years ago....but it is still a memorable part!
In the TH world you would have at least enough points to get 'Sick Score' on half the levels of THPS2 before the cop chase ends...sheesh...now I see why not!
------------------------------------------------------
ok, so can you guys tell me why you think 'that' certain TH game was the last good one?
