I'll pick this up to see what the praise for this Sega CD game is about. Not much for RPGs for PSP (aside from Star Ocean & the upcoming Persona remake).

I wonder if they'll use the Working Designs translation or a new one if it gets brought over to the US

The working designs translation watered down the game and made it more humorous. I would kind of like the more serious original script.

That's nonsense. The original script had silliness too, but it was Japanese oriented.

All WD did was make it humorous for a US audience, and they succeeded.

That said, I'm interested, but they need to quit making the remakes easier. Now the world map is point and click, which is lame.

Lunar's about exploration, not cutting corners.

Yeah I remember the original PSX version being balls hard, but when I played the GBA remake I just sailed through it in like, 10 hours, I was pissed.

Seems like every GBA RPG remake is watered down in difficulty :/

I never finished the PSX version, I gave up. I never really understood the hype around the game anyway, I didn't think it was that great.

Lunar 1 and 2 are pretty much perfect examples of traditional Japanese RPG's done right. The awesome music, the super awesome (at the time) voice acting (the outtakes for this are amazing), the battle system (which definitely deserves to mentioned as it stands up really well by itself and as a precursor to Grandia's), strong characterization and script all come together to make an awesome game.

And the PSX remakes are even easier than the Sega CD originals. No random battles, dumbed down boss fights(Borgan and Zophar are jokes in the remakes), smaller world maps, etc.

Wait wait "original PSX" and "PSX remake"? I thought there was just the remake? And that was hard as fuck. The only thing I didn't like about the Sega CD version was that the damn vine rope search thing is random. Don't make a necessary plot point a random find. Oh my it couldn't have been more frustrating.

XSEED has announced that they'll be bringing the game to the US & it'll be at E3 next week.

I remember playing the remake on GBA and it was pretty awesome. I beat the final boss at Level 45, and even then, he was still very hard. My favorite character from the game was Jessica D'Alkirk. She was an awesome character.
