Anybody here use M.U.G.E.N?

Basically, M.U.G.E.N. is a fighting game engine, which means that you can (if you can find them or make them yourself) use any character ever created in this fighting game. Granted, you have to make sure you install generally balanced characters, and half of the characters out there are crap, but hell, its really, really fun.

Anyways, if you guys have favorite characters, please post who/what they are and where you got them.

Most MUGEN games are poorly done and are mainly about dream matches. I have only seen one other game that wasn't a huge charecter mash up.

Playa, thats the thing- with unlocks and screenpacks, you can have as many characters as you want. Besides, for the most part, if you are using, you aren't playing games if you are on MUGEN, you are playing directly through the engine itself. It's basically like MvC with the ability to add whoever you want to it. Though yes, as I said earlier, often a large amount of the stuff for it sucks

That is pretty awesome. I think in 6.0 there was some sort of ongoing project to build some Bemani characters for M.U.G.E.N but it never really came to anything.

Guys, I have a weird question:

Is it possible to add Bonus Stages to MUGEN? Because I watched one mugen video on youtube, featuring THE FIRST LEVEL OF SUPER MARIO BROS 1. And yes, you actually have to go through it, until you arrive to the flag.

BTW, the first time I watched that bonus stage, it was a video (from youtube) of Shin Bison destroying SMB's 1-1 world with his Psycho Crusher

I've been thinkning about getting into all this but I've found it hard to find any char. files of people I'd want to play with and when I do you can't DL them... Is it because this is all extremely illegal and people are scared to post them or are they just generaly hard to find?

My friend says he'll get me a CD with a ton of people and the program and all that but I still wanna know about it...

Xakun, check the link I posted before, it's a good start to find MUGEN stuff.

And as far as I know, making MUGEN characters isn't illegal. There was a pointless rule some MUGEN communities imposed about characters from brand new games being forbidden so "people play the original games". And it seems they totally forgot it, because I've suddenly found a lot of characters from recent games like KOF XI, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and GGXX Slash.
