Default Mortal Kombat franchise may become good again!

Business: Midway Looking to Offload Mortal Kombat, Screwing Former Employees

After Midway's Bankruptality, it seems like they had no other choice but to sell their most decent franchise.

My bets for companies that may be interested.

-Rockstar
-Microsoft.
-lol Sega.

That would be an ironic kick in the face. XD

But seriously, they're bankrupt? That's news to me.

Mortal Kombat Vs. Capcom/Capcom Vs. MK.

Yeah, they've been bankrupt for almost a month.

Believe it or not, ACTIVISION is a likely bidder for the franchise says one analyst.

I hope a company that already knows how to make a good fighter gets a hold of it.

Capcom, Namco, SNK, any one of those would be fine with me.

Maybe not SNK, since they've been cheaping out on their games even more than Midway does.

On another note, your avatar is awesome. XD Hokuto FTW!!

SNKP would use the MK vs DC models during 10 years, with only minor cloth changes.

Oh, and everything would be designed by Falcoon.

No, thanks.

You mean MKDC wasn't successful?

I'm still trying to figure out what retard thought that game was the best idea in terms of making money. I can only imagine how much money DC wanted. I would have been fine with an online enabled MK (and just MK), and I imagine it would have been cheaper to make.

As said before in the MK vs DC thread, that game sold 1.8M of units, so it wasn't a commercial failure.

Of course, I don't think that shit sold more than that.

Midway had a lot of shit behind them, so the bankruptality was something kinda... unavoidable.

Think positively, If Activision purchases the franchise, there's a chance that we'll have them silly old MK characters tearing it up on Guitar Hero.

Imagine... Prince Goro ripping it up on a Gibson.

/facepalm

Again, one of the issues that came up HAD to have been the fees involved with getting DC to do anything. I had no idea it had sold that many units... but how much of the profit went to DC?

If they had broken dead even on that game, they did well, so... well, here's to hoping we end up with something stupid like Capcom vs. Mortal Kombat or something...
