DLC. Online rankings.

Course it's on the 360, so it's not region-free and I doubt it heads state-side...but hey, at least it made it, right? Course I hope it's not like some of the other Cave ports that haven't done too well on that console...

I'm actually almost to the point where I'm going to buy a used 360 and hack it because the implications of getting a Japanese 360 repaired are just amazing. I actually own a copy of Otomedius G and I've been waiting many moons to play it.

you can't flash a different region onto your 360. mods are SOL still. :<

This news just made my day. All these shoot em ups are what finally convinced me to buy a 360 in the first place. DeathSmiles just came out today (i think) but I chose the cheap shipping so it'll be a while before I get it.

dodonpachi daioujou black label was not ported by Cave, but by 5pb, which as far as I know hasnt had any experience with shmups before. They said they're working on a patch for bugs, but its still lame to release the game unpolished especially after delaying it twice. They're also handling the port of Ketsui, which has me a little worried.

Fortunately, Mushihimesama Futari and DeathSmiles are being ported by Cave, so I'm assuming they will be better quality.

I'm guessing the DLC will be the Black Label version, just like what they're doing with DeathSmiles.

bootleg of region locked software should boot IIRC.

I don't think that works.

It sounds like it's possible to change the region of a 360, but if you're going to buy a US 360 and go through the trouble of doing that and and basically having a J360 but with a voided warranty you might as well just buy a J360 and tell MS you bought it while teaching English in Japan when it breaks and demand that you get a console of the same region back from repairs.

that actually seems reasonable. And because Jumbo is still over there I might buy one from him rather than pay retarded import fees from <website here>

Assuming they believe that, what assurance do you have that they'll actually read the bit where you ask for a Japanese replacement? What's Microsoft's stance on importing?

Technically, none, but IIRC someone on shmups from the UK was able to get their J360 repaired with region intact.

Also, I wonder if they'll nix the counterstop. Could be interesting to see if someone can break 4bil.
