Also, I heard that because of the new, brighter screen, the new psp will see battery life drop of 20% or so. Is that true or was that old news?

I think we can see 20% lesser power consumption (compared to PSP-2000 series) and over 35% (against the PSP-1000 series).
This despite the newer LCD screen consuming around 10% more energy.

Now personally, I don't know how they could've done it.
I don't think they could've made improvements to the RISC processor in this stage.
So yeah, I really don't know how they made it possible.
Still, either way, it's a win-win situation

With all the love Square is giving the PSP, it's becoming harder and harder to resist. Really, I'd prefer it if they just released the games on PSN so I could play on my PS3. That'd make things a whole lot easier for me.

Is that true or was that old news? | It's true that it does yank more from the battery but the thing is that the rest of the PSP actually drains far less so you're going to get a better battery life out of this. See here.

Aside from that, for those that are getting one for sure, anyone decide on what color they are gonna get? Or do you prefer the standard black one? For me, it's a toss up between pearl white and mystic silver. Play-Asia has the pictures up to see if anyone was wondering.

I was hoping it could play .avi so I wouldn't have to spend so much time encoding stuff. Hopefully, it won't take as long to add stuff to it like my Zune (all I'd have to do is move it to a Memory Stick, right?).
I've been trying to decide between Bundles. Should I get the one with Ratchet & Clank, National Treasure 2 (I'd just sell it), & the free download coupon for Echochrome, or the one with the 4GB memory stick (I have a 2GB one already) & the download coupon for Everyday Shooter?

Although that may probably come later on.
Still, I am happy that this is coming out so kudos to Sony for this new HW revision.
