Default New SMB

Yeah.

Game's great.

However, I believe the game leaves little replay value after you go through every level and get the Star Coins. So what did I do to remedy this?

Why, play the game all over again, but this time doing as good as I can. I got every Star Coin on my own by memory this time and backtracked only to get any I missed if I needed a particular power-up. I also saved up my Star Coins so that if I needed to quit at any time, I can just go to the nearest Item Mushroom House to save and possibly need something. 1UP Mushroom Houses were never used and I rarely touched a Mega Mushroom house. :P Oh, and I strictly played as Luigi the second time around, just for aesthetics' sake.

A lot of the mini-games are hard and don't let me get far. :< Any tips for any of them, barring the Table category?

One more thing: I registered myself at Nintendo.com and yesterday I partook in a survey about New SMB. D:

Who's tried to beat a boss as...Shell Mario? Hmm? Hmm? Interesting prospect, yes?

DEWD WHUT ABOUT LUIGI?!
There's lots of neat easter eggs in this game.
Goto GameFaq(g)s, if you haven't already, and do all of if it.
I'd say, replay value is a 6 out of 10.

I've 100%'d/triple starred the game on all three slots and have loved every second of it.

Man, I don't know where my third star is at. It's apparently linked to alternate exits and...yeah.

I got it my first time after realizing that I hadn't visited one of the cannons yet. After I did, it popped up.

But the main question is........

Is it better than any of the other 2D Mario's?

I personally think it is much better than them all.

I was quite dissapointed at the size of the levels though, I thought they could be bigger. I mean, if you can fit the whole of Super Mario 64 on it AND more, you should at least have long levels. The last level was very dissapointing, the boss was WAY too easy and the level was really short for the last one. It was nice how you could tip the castle upside down though .

I still need to unlock World 4 and 7 yet though. I know how, but I got killed a Mini Mario and now I have to go and get another mini mushroom lol.

I think's it's worth around 92% :P.

Nah, Super Mario World is the best 2D Mario, followed by Super Mario Bros. 3, followed by NSMB, followed by SMB DX.

My favorite game is still SMB3, partly out of nostalgia, but mostly because it was pure greatness. NSMB is good, though, in its own right, and I've had a lot of fun with it. I haven't quite gotten all of the star coins, but I only have worlds 7 and 8 left to complete. I'm looking forward to some epic Mario vs. Luigi matches with my friend.

I really liked it (100%/***), but it feels like it's a remake of SMB1 (for NES). I would really like if they make a kind of remake of SMB3. You know, all the items and suits, p-wings, warps, pipe-world, airships.

If they made a game like that, it'd be collosal. Remember the old rumors of there being secret worlds in SMB3? Yeah, like that.

..No shit.

Kenshiro: The multiplayer matches I've played have been pretty intense so far. I definitely think you'll enjoy it.

So far I've beaten one of my friends in my only M v. L match. The other one who challenged me said he faced all his cousins and beat them soundly. Sounds like it might be an epic duel... o.0

BTW, what's everyone's favorite non-M v. L multiplayer game? Mine is definitely the snowball game.

New hidden feature revealed!

Beat the game, access the world map, and input the following:
L R L R X X Y Y (L and R are the triggers on front of the DS, not on the D-Pad)

This puts the game in Challenge Mode. It disallows backtracking just like in SMB1!

I thought the game was a lot of fun, but way too easy. The last boss was also incredibly disappointing. I couldn't believe that was it. : /
