Nintendo DSi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I do own a DS lite and Wii, so I'm not a Nintendo hater. But I'm skeptical about this. Personally, I think it's ugly, since the L and R buttons are raised, and the camera is just a big black circle on the shell. Does the DS really need to be any smaller? The speakers look like the horrible ones on the PSP, and why did they go back to a button for the Power? Anyway, there are new features, such as a Wii-style shop, SD card slot, and upgradable firmware, but I think the bad outweigh the good. There's absolutely no backward compatibility with Game Boy, meaning no Guitar Hero or Pokemon collecting, and the battery life is shorter. And it doesn't seem the games would be much different from regular DS games, and I would assume they would release DSi games for DS also. So I won't be getting this when it comes to the US, or at least anytime soon.

Not like that's much of a problem. There'll probably be a GBA emulator for it within a week.

TC forgot to mention that the DSI supposedly has duel touch screens, and knowing Nintendo and their gimmicks, they will start making all their games based around the two touch screens. So in a nutshell, no matter how much we dont like it, we are most likely going give into the DSI no matter our feelings for it.

Uh, the DSi doesn't have two touch screens. That initial report from IGN was from a mistranslation and the writer should be shot for spreading such misinformation.

Eh, I'd rather wait to see if Nintendo will really go forward with their shitton of trademarks before I diss the DSi.

Even though I'm going to get one cheaply when it's out (trade-in extra DS = win).
