Nintendo to release Wii remote 'jackets'

Dunno how many of you have checked your Wiis yet, but you should have a message from Nintendo along these lines:

Cushiony Shield: Nintendo Giving Away Anti-Slip Remote Jacket - Kotaku

From the looks of it, they'll be included with all new remotes sold and those of us who have remotes without them will be able to get them for free from Nintendo. Just go here and fill out the form (you'll need your Wii's serial number):

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It really makes the remote look shoddy. :/

I'll get them just so I have them, but I won't put them on my remotes unless they're removable. Plus, neither I nor my friends really need them since we all know that you don't need to swing the remote like a retard. :P

It would have to be removable to slot into stuff like the zapper so I wouldn't worry too much on that front.

Oh god I hate these things

I've used third-party ones and they give the controller a really horrible rubbery feel (as would be expected); I prefer the smooth plastic feel of a bare remote

Because I'm guessing it's the front most of the time that brakes the tv's and other things. As if the new wrist straps weren't enough.
