Default Oblivion: Shivering Isles

I am currently having a blast with this, as an equally-good expansion to one of the most engrossing single-player games I've played since, uh, Morrowind.

Some of the quests are actually really cool in how they're designed, like one part where you're in control of a dungeon and you get to send monsters to kill adventuring parties or unleash surreal events to make them literally go insane.

Oblivion's quests have always been the best in my book. So many of them are so creative and unique, and that's one thing that really kept me hooked on the game while other RPGs fell short. If the expansion can come anywhere close to the original quest lines, it is well worth the money. While I myself have yet to play it, everyone I know who has it has strongly recommended it. Perhaps this might be the time to dust off my disks and get back into the game...

I want a no BS response. Is it worth it for someone who got bored of the game 2 weeks after it came out and uninstalled it?

It's more of the same type of gameplay as Oblivion, so probably not.

I will admit that it's not for everyone -- some people like more direction and hand-holding and a little less "here, go do whatever you want" freedom. That's the reason I like it, but it is an acquired taste

If you didn't like the original, I really doubt the game is going to be so much different to the point that you'd like it. The expansions for Morrowind were mostly more of the same in different settings with more stuff to play with, and more stuff to do.

You could always give it a try, though. The stuff they were showing off with the expansion looked really cool.

I definitely like open ended games, but Oblivion paled in comparison to Morrowind content-wise, which is why I got bored of it so quickly.

The expansion pack is more funny then serious, just the king at least, and what was with the mission where you had to find some guys fork and spoon?

I got mine for XBOX360, and you download it over XBOX LIVE, it costs $30, and takes up about 1 GB. So just go to the marketplace to download it.
