No. Apparently, what happened was someone said that Luffy was gay, and the girl got mad because Luffy was her favorite character. It just so happens that there was a guy cosplaying shirtless as Luffy, which I assume brought out the gay comment.

All I know for sure is that there was a scuffle, and she ended up with a broken arm. True story.

I always suspected there wasn't any sort of intended timeline. We never even knew if it was the same Link in each game (with the exceptions like Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask). Wind Waker hinted that it was a future of OoT, but there were also notably a few differences between the events of the latter and Wind Waker's tale.

The characters are not the important thing here, though. Notice that Link rarely (if ever) gets dialog. He's not a real person, he's an avatar of courage. The games are generally centered around the grand abstract conflict of good vs. evil.

In short, the games are all separate universes. They reuse the same symbols each time to give a sense of familiarity, but it is not a character-driven series.

Maybe someday Nintendo will deliver a skeletal timeline to appease the fans, but I heartily believe Miyamoto never intended for such a thing. It'd be like trying to set a timeline for all the Mario games.

Ignorant? I tend to avoid vampire fiction all together. You know. Except Castlevania. but that hardly counts as Vampire Fiction. at least when I play it. I just care that I get to kill massive amounts of endlessly spawning things on a 2d plane without jumping on anybody's head.
