Playstation 3 Pre-orders

Just wanted to chime in and say play-asia is finally taking pre-orders for the JPN ps3. Lik-sang is offering both US and JPN models. No money down. Anyone else importing?

I got my reservation for a US model about 4 weeks ago at an FYE at the mall.

FYE = For Your Entertainment

I was first in line

I might think of a Japan model later...

Not to be off topic but speaking of reservation information. What the hell is going on with the Wii? None of the retailers are taking reserves on the systems, just the software. And it doesn't seem like they will change that anytime soon.

1 or 2 weeks for reservation for the Wii I believe. I was told from a friend who found out by calling Gamestop. Haha.

I asked a local Gamestop associate about the old $50 trade-in deal and he hasn't even heard of it.

Mine just started taking them today. I heard no one wanted to take them anymore, because people were told "ok even if you pre-order the 360 we can't give it to you launch day", and naturally there were dumbasses who flipped out at them because they couldn't get it. He said they had all kinds of threats over the phone from people who pre-ordered and still hadn't gotten it months later.

That was only at like 2 or 3 stores...and they were all in Hawaii. They just wanted to test it out and see how well it worked.

I don't think it did very well.

GameStop is taking preorders on the PS3 as of tomorrow morning ($100 down). Of course, that means you'll have to be one of the first 5 people to even HOPE of getting a system. I'm actually surprised that GameStop isn't making them put like $200+ down on it.

On the Wii front...I'm pretty sure the Wii preorders will start within the next week considering the fact that it comes out two days after the PS3 does.

Glad I'm not working at Gamestop anymore, I wouldn't wish that hell on anyone.

I work at a Gamecrazy and I'm required to come in for both launches. Don't remind me.... Well, at least we're guarantee to get the next-gens before anyone else. As if it will matter.

What?

November 19th is a Sunday.

Black Friday is the 24th.

Nintendo launches their consoles on Sundays, as least as of late. The GameCube, the GBA SP, the DS and the GB Micro all came out with a Sunday launch day, IIRC.

i'm waiting a while before i actually get my PS3. i'm holding out for the "hopefully-the-price-will-drop-when-Metal Gear Solid 4-comes-out" mindset.

i've been saving for my PS3 for a while but i dont even have enough now. Although my birthday is in a week within the PS3's US launch, it would be nice to have but no launch games excite me. MGS4, FFXIII, and Virtua Fighter 5 are the top 3 on my list (although I am curious to see what the hell Final Fantasy Versus XIII is)

Any idea on what PS3s will be going for? I swear back around E3 someone quoted between $400 and $600 depending on which hard drive/accessories set you got. There's no way I'll blow that much one that.

I think I'd even wait a year for a freakin price drop.

I think it's $500 for the basic system, $600 and it comes with an extra controller and some other stuff.

I went to reserve it last week the day they opened reservations. Left school at 2 PM, went straight over to EB, but they already had all of their reservations filled
