Sorry, but 500 dollars is still to much for me. *waits 2 years until it drops to $300*

I really don't understand this though, they've been 500 dollars around here for quite some time.

I said it once and I'll say it again.

There just isn't enough of a game library for me to warrant a purchase even with a price drop and the return of dual shock. Besides Resistance and VF5 there isn't anything worthwhile right now. Most of the good games aren't going to start coming out until late 2007/2008 anyway so I'll gladly wait until then to get a PS3.

You're probably thinking of the unit with the smaller hard drive.

And I would bet you the price difference that those models weren't the 60gig PS3s.

Well, now it's at the price that I originally got my 360 at, pretty much. I think I might even buy one not too long from now, especially now that its past the luke-warm launch titles phase. Hopefully some wicked unnanounced title comes out real quick, too

That's entirely possible because some stores, in efforts to spur sales for the PS3 dropped the price on their own. Others, as the article mentioned, just anticipated the price drop and went ahead to do it.

Very true. Whenever new consoles get released, there aren't very many good games. I learned the hard way when I first got my PS2 on launch. I only had Tekken Tag for a good 4-5 months before getting another decent game.

We'll maybe not now but when MGS4, FFXIII, SC4, Tekken 6, GTA4, & RE5 come out I'm sure it'll change many people's minds about wanting a PS3. I'll prob get one then.

The 360 version is revision C and is gonna have online play so I'd recommend getting that instead

It's still not worth it to me since all of the titles I want for the PS3 are also available for the 360. (i.e. Armored Core 4) Maybe once MGS4 is out and it drops another $100-200 I'll start thinking about it, but until then, I'll probably just stick with the Wii and if I can manage it, get a 360.

Sony is pretty much taking the "long-term" approach. Right now, even with the price drop, it's too expensive. And the lack of tantilizing games aren't helping.

But we all know the original $600 price tag is because of the built-in HD DVD player, right?

Right.

The thing is that the DVD player is way ahead of it's time, and a decade from now PS3's will still be bought left and right. Maybe not just because of the Blue-ray, but because by then there will be libraries of games out for it. And that's where Sony will make the profit.

So the PS3 just sucks right now. Just wait about a year or so.
