And just for the record, I'm getting pearl.
Hey, does anyone know if the carts are going to be transparent or something cool like that, or just plain black?

Anyone know if there's a lot of hype for these games? I'll reserve them if theres a good chance that I wont be getting it on release day.

Cuz that kinda counters the theme for every past Pokemon game. "Gotta CATCH em all," remember? Emphasize on the CATCH part.

Both him and someone else were posting what they were doing in the game. Check there, because that's where I thought I read it (beware though, it's a LONG thread).
I know it's a change from the previous games, but keep in mind that there's pretty limited activity between the DS and GBA games. It'd be a total pain in the ass to trade over each Pokemon you couldn't catch on those versions, especially when you can only trade a select few at a time. I think they did it on purpose.

I think once per day, you can upload 6 of your pokemon from R/S/E/FR/LG to your DS game and try to re-catch them in this park. (I wouldn't worry about losing anything, though: the pokeballs in this park have 100% success rate.) After you catch the pokemon you uploaded, they rate you on your performance (how fast you caught them, etc) and give you berries based on it. Once you transfer pokemon to the DS though, you CAN NOT transfer them back to the GBA games. As for the limit per day thing, I can't think of any good reason as to why that'd be there.

Wasn't there another D/P topic in OG a while ago? I seem to remember it. This topic makes it seem like it's new (or at least the TC) but the Japanese version has been out for months, and there was a ton of info on the game even before that.

I'm getting Pearl(pink). Since I know so many people that's getting Diamond..It'll be easier for me to get the exclusives I dont have with Pearl.

For example, Hyper Beam is a Normal Type move, but it is not a physical attack, so Special Attack is used in the damage calculation. Another example of this when comparing two moves of the same type: Flamethrower is a move based on Special Attack (not a physical attack) but Fire Punch is based on Attack, because it's physical. It's all listed in-game on the screen that tells you the base attack/accuracy of the attacks, so it's not really that hard to figure out.

Someone has already told me that the new features that were added to the series after the old games (Red,Blue,Yellow) are going to overwhelm me at first. I hope not...
