Regarding Lucian, I do recall that he has a Fighting-type attack that uses up Sp. Atk, which is the one thing your Dark-types should watch out for. A good Dark/Ghost (Sableye or Spiritomb, although their At/SpAtt aren't amazing) will work well. I'd worry more about Cynthia's Garchomp, Milotic (I remember she has one) and Spiritomb.

I haven't played the game yet (man, I really should get that job so I can start spamming it on DS), but I think L50+ will do. Personally, I'm going a'la Lance / Clair for this one, so my team will be (after transfer from GBA games):

Garchomp, Kingdra, Dragonite, Flygon, Salamence, Piplup

My basis is that Abomasnow is the Dragon-killer, so he has more staying power. I wonder about the other 2, since most of their abilites are covered (Earthquake FTW)

Also, what's a good level to take the E4 on?
Golem and Abomasnow are not pokemon I would suggest for major use. Both with x4 weaknesses, so a pokemon 20 levels under it's could take it out in a hit.

switch abomasnow with milotic (feebas by raising beauty with poffins) and give it ice beam. Also, I -still- have the cyndaquil that belongs to you (which you can get without national dex.. just won't show up in the dex until you do.)

SWAMPERT @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
Adament
Torrent

- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Avalanche
- Roar/Rest

Fixed from earlier.

Most of the good Starters got a nice boost. Like Hulk here.

I could go to Turn-Back Cave and catch you some pokemon that would skull fuck the E4 if you'd like.

Gengars, Machamps, Bronzongs, Staraptors, Bannettes, Golducks, etc

The only real problem with Swampert is his x4 weakness to grass moves, but the use of Roar is a good way to cancel that out. Just make sure your speed is high.

3rd Elite - A fighting type will make this guy a lot easier, also have a ground or electric
4th Elite - Have a dark type or good dark move (crunch), he shouldn't been too hard
Cynthia - You'll need some heavy hitters, especially against her Spiritomb since it doesn't have a weakness. If you have the above recommended types you'll do fine.

I've actually got a sort of plan that might work for his Bronzong.

I have an Iron Ball, and Torterra is at lv... 60ish at this point from power leveling? I might just equipt that and have it use Earthquake on it for a OHKO chance.

Okay, I guess I can level my Gengar/Machamp up some more (they're only in their 30s).

I caught a Steelix, too. It can learn Ice Fang, so with a setup of these moves:

-Ice Fang
-Dragonbreath
-Iron Tail
-Rock Throw (not up to Stone Edge yet)

Would he become useful?

Bronzong has Levitate

Its' only weakness is Fire.

Steelix is the second best def. pokemon in the game. If you do want to use him, which is entirely up to you, (I've trained pokemon that aren't the best just because I liked them) I would suggest putting as many EVs as you can into def and sp. def. As for moves, you always want to try and have as many STAB moves as possible. While Stone Edge is a good move, it doesn't get STAB and has a lower accuracy, so you might want to replace that with something else.
My suggestions

-Earthquake [TM26] - Physical/Ground w/ att of 100. Gets STAB
-Iron Tail [TM23/lv. 38] - Physical/Steel w/ att of 100. Gets STAB
-Screech [lv.6] - Lowers defense of foe 2 stages
-Roar [TM5] - Forces pokemon to switch out. You'll need this to get rid of pokemon that have the type advantage over you.

Those are just some suggestions, play around and find what you're comfortable with.
