Wobbuffet is banned in competitive play, because the only counter is another wobbuffet, and then you can't switch out either of them.

Unless one of them has toxic, which is a decent alternative for recover/safeguard.

Okay, honestly, this part has been bugging me. How do you get a Wobbuffet to learn Recover? It's not listed as one of its egg moves, Wynaut doesn't learn it... what am I missing?

I think those might be netbattle only...or just plain post error.

From what I have seen, and according to my little guide book, Wobuffet DOES NOT learn ANY moves other than its basic four moves. Ever. No TMs or HMs. Nada. Unless this has been changed in D/P, I have no idea.

EDIT: That isn't 100% true. If you evolve Wynaut, you get three(!) moves you can't normally get for Wobuffet: Splash, Charm, and Encore. Yes, you can live the dream of having a Wobuffet with Splash.

Right. That's what I was reading, too. serebii.net only lists those seven possible moves, hence my confusion as to where recover was coming from. Okay, so if it's netbattle only, I don't have to worry about it. If it had been available otherwise, I would be all over it.
