The 1st game was good although it was quite repetitive and the fighting mode was rather simple and dull, however prince of persia 2 changed this all and gave the game a whole new idea with the freeform fighting.
The new PS3 game looks awsome although i havent played it yet im told it has fully traversible terrain and real damage (you die after 1 hit etc) it sounds absolutely amazing if any one has played it please leave comments about it thank you,
The best part of all the games has to be no. 2s dahaka chases tho they were so fun and looked aswome wen u did it first time it was also funny wen u got caught and got sucked dry of sands and killed.
Overall its an amazing game what does everyone think

I mean in games like Super Mario Bros. you can stop and switch direction on a dime. Come on be realistic, you have to have a little bit of time to stop forward momentum before switching directions. And the animation is so goddamn smooth. I think they used this technique called rotoscoping. I don't really know what it does but I think it's the wave of the future. Platformers will never be the same.

never played the series much after Sands of Time, just isn't really my thing. Especially 3D. That game was awful.
Edit: actually there is nine, not counting ports

And Akka, by my count I get 6: Prince 1 and 2 for DOS, Prince 3D, and the three newer ones. Which am I missing?

Warrior Within was a goddamned landslide of terrible concept that tragically buried the town of Good Ideas; Two Thrones excavated it and struck a near perfect balance of platforming and fighting, and enough of the fights could be bypassed by stealth kills that I never felt too pressed in that regard. Much, much better.

Marketplace Rating: 16 | The first and only Prince of Persia game I ever played was Sands of Time. I really, really liked the gameplay. I hated combat but that wasn't what the game was about.
I got stuck somewhere in the game so I never completed it and didn't get a chance to rent it again to finish.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | PoP1 for DOS is considered to be one of the absolute hardest games in the entire retro gaming community. It's not hard because of the enemies and puzzles, it's hard because you had ONE FUCKING HOUR to beat the game...
...And the vizir counters nearly ALL your strikes.
I have beaten PoP1, but haven't beaten PoP's 2- the rest. I haven't even PLAYED Sands-Thrones.
Although I hear that the bonuses in the Xbox version of PoP Sands of Time is both PoP1 and 2 for DOS. I may pick it up purely for that.
