Quickie question about C&C Red Alert

I want to run Command & Conquer: Red Alert on my computer, really bad. The problem is, it only wants to run on Windows 95 since its so damn old. I have XP Professional. I've tried running it in W95/98/ME/etc using the compatibility settings and stuff, but to no avail.

Is there any way to run C&C: RA on a Windows XP system? Or is this a lost cause?

A fan-made patch addressed that issue... let me see if I can find it (there's also a similar one for the original C&C, too.)

No prob. As a general rule, though, any game of middling-to-greater popularity from the Win 95 era has a patch of similar qualities out there if you look hard enough. (Wish I'd known that ages ago before I tossed a crapload of old games.)

or the intelegently programed ones that never did anything that were great games, but ignored, just run.

You can get Command and Conquer The First Decade

It includes

C&C 1995 and covert ops
C&C red alert, counter strike aftermath
C&C tiberium sun and firestorm
C&C red alert 2 and yuri's revenge
C&C Renegade
C&C Generals and zero hour

all for like 40 bucks and its all compatible with winxp.

Yeah, but it's also $40 more than those of us who've been buying these games for said decade really want to pay. So solutions like this exist.

Yeah, because I already own two copies of RA and Aftermath. how can anyone honestly expect me to pay out another 40 dollars to play it on my latest operating system?
