According to the-magicbox.com, it's going to be a new 3rd-person game for the Wii, with Siegfried as the main character. Concept art shows Ivy hacking down a bunch of mummies and Siegfried (with Soul Edge) fighting a dragon. | |

SC3's AI system was complete garbage, plus they ended up RUINING Ivy (they made Kilik less of a button mash-y character though, which was good) and quite a few other older characters. Not to mention the travesty that was Chronicles of the Sword.
Although, yes, the character generator was fantastic.

Total Tokens: 4,972.38 Donate Tokens | Just because some characters got cheap and a mode that we knew was going to suck before the game came out lived up to that said ruling doesn't make a bad game.
I'm not going to say that SC3>SC2 because that's not true. It's not a bad game and just because it:
1) Didn't live up to the second game in most people's opinions.
2) Replaced character glitches with other ones.
3) Made some charcters that veterans were used to completely different and in some cases worse than before.
4)Threw in a lot of modes that were somewhat pointless.
5) Computer AI got worse.
...doesn't make it terrible. Nitpicking an otherwise solid fighting game isn't going to make things better. What's done is done. SCL is probably going to suck but don't most fighting game spinoffs suffer the same fate? (VF For Kids, Death By Degrees, Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers, etc) I know Puzzle Fighter is one of the exceptions so don't mention it.
A little ranting yes but the point is IMO SC3 doesn't suck. It just wasn't as good as SC2 or 1.

The individual balance problems were bad enough, but okay, it's still true in this as in any other fighter that skill is the chief determinant of victory or failure. But when you start to look at things like the issues surrounding GIs it all comes together into a mess that, while fun, managed to do away with a lot of the tight play that made the previous games good. SC was never a really deathly serious type of fighting game but 3, by virtue of the lack of polish, stepped away from the quality that the others had. | |
