Oh your talking about battle levels.
Yes, I'm talking about that star ocean. It doesn't cahnge my opinion about the game.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Reasons why I ended up hating the game and not finishing it:
1. It tries to pass off as a sci-fi game that really is a fantasy game. That pretty much destroyed my initial impressions and I spent most of the game wondering when I would ever get off the planet...only to end up getting on another planet...and ending up having to go back to it.
2. MP Death. Still, it was useful for some fights (killing a boss in three hits with the Lighting Blade was fun)
3. Invention. Took way too long and unnecessarily complex The game doesn't even do a good job of explaining what the hell each thing does.
4. The plot. By the second disc, I think everyone knows what I'm talking about.
5. Irregular levels. Having to grind Sophia from level 1 to level 60 in a day was not fun.
6. Uneven difficulty of enemies.
7. Not being able to buy the high-end items when you get back on that goddamn planet (and not being able to go back, unless if I am seriously missing something).
8. Bonus Gauge. A novel idea at first and it made grinding faster, but it was seriously maddening when it broke and finding out you can't make it rise anymore because you leveled up too much.
Good things, though:
1. Event Skipping (especially when you keep dying at a boss battle)
2. Nel
3. Maria
4. Nel
5. Pretty detailed encyclopedia, though it managed to lightly spoil some things ahead of time if you kept reading it. It even mentioned SO1.
6. Nel | |

The story to me great. I loved the characters, the music and everything about the game. There were some glitches throughout the game, and some of the cut scenes would go on for hours with nothing happening, but that's what scene skip was for.
There's plenty of replay value, and some of the later enemies present a great challenge. I've only gotten to about level 95-ish (well with Fayt and Nel only...everyone's either 60 or below), but I still have fun with it.
Good game.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | The story is not the best I've ever seen, but it IS a fun game to play. I originally disliked MP death, but in time, I realized that MP Death was new and creative, and I began to love it. Cliff and Nel were the best 2 characters to have fighting along Fayt. Aerial Assault and Flying Gullitine are win. Right now though, I'm at the Maze of Tributations, and I'm still there because I decided to take a break from the game, heh...

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I started playing this about two weeks ago, and I was having a blast. Then I got to the Shrine of Kaddan, and the difficulty spiked like nothing I've ever seen before. I got out using so many of items.
So I went online to see if this was supposed to happen and got mixed responses. I had a feeling I was just underleveled, but I also found out that inventing does a great deal of help. I tried my hand at it, and got some much better weapons, and I finally learned how to cancel bonus.
So I figure I'm fine now, maybe just get a few more levels under my belt. Wrong. Everything else is harder. I'm dying far easier, Cliff stands around half the time doing nothing. Maria takes 4 hits and dies. So I go back to a place where I had no problem before. For some reason even enemies that I had little problem with before are now much harder. Those goddamn harpies in the area before Surferio are doing way better that before (I could kill them easier ~15 hours into the game than ~20 hours). It's insane.
Either Maria really sucks and is bringing my entire party down, or the game just decided to increase the difficulty for no reason at all. I still like the game, I'm just pissed that this happened.

I had a tough time in the Shine but I don't remember having too much trouble after that, aside from a few boss battles.
This thread reminds me that I need to finish my level 1 universe run.

SO3
Strike One - 3 player party limit
Strike Two - overworld on tracks, leaving nothing to explore
Strike Three - levelling up means jack, it's all about the items you use
You're out, SO3. | |

I got it mega spoiled though, but oh well. It's still cool! ^_^ Still love it, want to get all the Battle Trophy things. Just gonna take..a long..long while.

And whoever's quoting Albel Knox, please use another victory line.
Like "Hmph, just another worm."
or "It doesn't matter how many maggots you've got, I'll crush them all."
Need some simfiles for that game. Maybe Bitter Dance, or as I call it "Azazer's Theme"
