I play online.. and I have LAN partys consisting of SC(as well as other games) about once a month. It's one of the greatest games ever, it's probably my favorite of all time actually. gg.

I've played through both Starcraft and Brood Wars and I have to say the storyline is one of the best I've ever seen for a RTS.

The game's now 8 years old but it's still going strong.

I don't see how you can ask if anybody knows this game. Anybody that has been in the gaming scene will know about Starcraft.

I played on the US Ladder for the first couple of season as Protoss. I was somewhere in 2650s in the first season, then went to about 2800s or so in the following seasons. Around 1.04 (when Brood War just came out) I stopped playing competively over the internet. I gave up around 1.07 or so due to the rampant cheating that was occuring in games online. It's still a great game, but fuck all those cheaters.

i love this game, especialy those defence games, like Maze D, drill D,... can't remember anymore name since I havent played in awhile, but I love that defence game where you get income (not income defence), the one where you can make sunks or spores at the end... yea... Also stacking hydras is very cool

Somehow you managed to answer your own question through bad grammar. That is amazing, sir.

Starcraft is one of the most amazing games I have ever played. I sometimes play online with a few friends of mine because it's very nostalgic.

I loved playing Starcraft back in the day. Wish I hadn't lost my case and CD-key :/ At least the battle chest is really cheap now if I ever decide to jump back in. Seems like private servers are the way to go now, at least to control cheating.

My favorite Starcraft moment was actually the final Protoss mission of Brood War...instead of just taking a decent force to the temple and praying for it to hold on (the efficient way) I massed giant armies of upgraded Dragoons and started taking out everything. Then I mind-controlled a drone and started making Hydras. Three hours later, the enemy Zerg had a handful of units and a bunch of small bases across the map, building them too quickly for me to destroy, so I parked my entire force at the temple and never got attacked :-)

When I played, I went through a ton of names. AlphaLeader was my longest-lived, which had somewhere around a 20-12 record. (Yeah, I know, woohoo-I played mostly amongst my friends though) Then I went with the name Stiletto, thinking it was cool because it was the name of a weapon. After about the fifth "do u kno your named after heels!!!111" comment, I dropped that account too. =P

I always loved the players who micromanaged so much they'd quit if one thing went wrong. I won a game by surrender against a player with something like a 99-20 record just because I managed to kill one of his Overlords. We were both Zerg and I guess he thought I'd inevitably beat him to Mutalisks, although if he'd just stayed with it I probably would have screwed up.

I used to play a few times a week on USwest, but its mostly with my friends. Now that they've moved on to other games (WoW, in particular), I don't play that much anymore...if there was enough interest I could probably try to dig out my disc and install again.

x2

Starcraft is such a great game for me because it presents such a compelling story-line. I'm on the nerdy side of things, so I've read the three SC based novels and man.... it just adds a whole new perspective to the campaign mode. I think my favorite novel is Liberty's Crusade. I won't spoil anything, but the book works itself SO well into the original storyline, you would think the Blizzard left something out.

On a semi-off topic note, is anyone else very frustrated that blizzard or whoever keeps delaying the release of Ghost? Maybe I'm behind on the news, but I've also heard rumors of the project being nixed all together. Anybody else got info to supplement this?
