I always thought Steam was mostly retarded because they have the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I sent a support ticket about my account being stolen at least a month ago... still no answer. So now I can't play any TFC (and apparently they can't fix it either) without buying it again and making a new account? That's good. :]

Arimasen, you could at least start trying. Steam sucked from the beginning, and there's no changing that. The friend list has been fuced for as long as I can remember, and there's even cracked versions of Steam which allow you to download the entire games without paying for them. It's disgusting.

steam wouldn't exist if people didn't pirate software to the point where they had to check to see if copies are legit other than having to "type in the third word on page 47" to see if you actually owned the game

Yeah, Steam wasn't a copy-protection plan to begin with, it was digital distribution.

It's just become more useful as a combination, is all.

Steam isn't copy-protection at all. but it was created as a means of safely distributing games, so it probably has reduced pirated software compared to that of other game companies.

hell, if i was ValvE i would have done quite close to the same thing, being that thier new flagship game got stolen and put on the internet for everyone to see, causing them to rework the entire game itself.

The way I see it Steam just made everything to complicated. I remember when I could play Half Life straight from the game but know you have to open it through steam.

Old topic, but am I the only one who likes steam? Its simple and it works. Whats so bad about it? God forbid you have to open a program that automatically updates your games, to play them.
