Oh, by the way... it seems that the leader of the Capcom Japan development team for Street Fighter IV is... Yoshinori Ono, a man behind the following games:
Shin Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.
Shadow of Rome.
Chaos Legion. Capcom Fighting Jam / Evolution. :|
Seriously, Capcom. WTF were you thinking when assigning that man such an important project?
EDIT: Yep, they confirmed it at Capcom Gamers Day
Just in case someone wants to know what this guy has done so far in Capcom: Yoshinori Ono
... yes, he hasn't done SH*T.

It felt like they just threw ugly sprites over the other SF characters. Maybe I should give it another chance, its been more than a few years since I played it. Im also not a fighting game nerd, (i dont mean that offensively) I play Bemani, RPGs, and castlevania, but I dont follow anything religiously accept the Bemani games. I injoy fighting games, but, as I have said before, my knowledge is extremely limited. and........I dunno, 3rd strike just didnt feel like SF to me.
Ive never played SF 1 before either, so.....yeah
Wasnt Capcom Fighting Evolution that game with all the crappy characters from the capcom fighting games that everyone hated?

Ive never played SF 1 before either, so.....yeah | If you've never played the original, you don't have the right to say SF3 doesn't feel like Street Fighter. Only that it doesn't feel like Street Fighter II, which it doesn't. Duh.
If they don't rework the system heavily yet again, I'll be disappointed.

CFE was shit. As much as anyone can like it, but it doesn't change the fact that it was horrendous in a lot of aspects. The SFZ chars are far from being things that would save the game from being crap.

In any way, it doesn't change the fact that:
-CFE is a horrible game.
-Yoshinori Ono being in charge of SF IV =

Oh, BTW, I change what I said earlier: ALL current KOF games nowadays are crap (including XI), compared to REAL masterpieces like 95, 97 or 98.

SF only got credit because it got out there first. KoF did much more to revolutionize the fighting genre than SF could ever hope to accomplish.
MI was a cop out so they could make more titles, I will admit but they kind of had to because of microsofts demands.
With repetition comes mediocrity eventually unless that same stuff is so different/original people will demand more to play more of the same. Sadly, KoF just became another 2-D fighter among a zillion others.
That and real 3-D fighters started muscling in. (Soul Caliber, Virtua Fighter, Tekken)
The 2-D fighter is dying. Ask any fan. Smash doesn't into this because it technically isn't a "fighting game" but more of a "party brawler".

It simply followed a different formula... a formula which got ruined and f***ed from KOF99 and the rest.
SF was the game that established the basic of practically ALL modern fighting games (life bars, time meter, 1 vs 1 fighting scheme), how could KOF surpass that? It's simply impossible.
