Default Swap Magic 3 CD ROM Version 3.6

For some odd reason or another my Swap Magic CD Rom Driver 3.6 won't work on my ps2 slim flip top. Is there any other version that will def. work for booting CD games? I'm trying to get Rez to work. =P Thanks.

Well, could you tell us how it's not working? Is it giving disc read errors (HAH...), it's not letting you play it when you open the lid? Try to be as specific as possible.

Ha, you have a bad disc. Try cleaning it off. If that doesn't work, you pretty much just need another disc.

You have
1. A bad disc, or
2. Welcome to the joy of owning a ps2, the laser is broken and needs cleaning and/or adjustment of the voltage.

Try running an American CD based game (blue bottom). If it doesn't load, your PS2's laser is shot.

The CD versions of Swap Magic are dumb, for the slimlines, you need the latest, ALWAYS. I still run my DVD SM 3.0 on my slim and it works fine. I just need a CD one now.

My PS2 has more trouble reading blue based games (which are actually just CD-R based titles) than it does with regular DVD based games, so that isn't accurate.

PS2 consoles are random, you never know whether you're going to get a good one or a bad one. Or one that's just right. I've had a Swap Magic and I can pretty much assure you you'll get pissed off switching discs. Just get a modchip, it's easier.

No, it's pretty accurate. The PS2's laser assembly has two modes: CD and DVD. If one doesn't work and the other does, it means the problem is deeper than just a cleaning or adjustment issue, which would affect both, and it's essentially fucked. But hey, thanks for the gaping chance to clarify myself.
