Total Tokens: 40,057.48 Donate Tokens | Things about fighting games that often piss you off I've been doing a lot of research and was a fighting game guru since 1995 (when I was 9 years old) and noticed many ones that often make us cuss our breath out in many ways. Here are a few...
1. Cheap AI, even if you turn the difficulty to the easiest settings, I got my rear-end handed down too many times than not in many popular games. The worst was MKII's unrelenting difficulty in single-player arcade version, and it was toned to the lowest settings and it was just the first battle of the game.
2. Boss battles that require some large luck to beat (see the 2D Mortal Kombat games and Tekken 5 and Dark Resurrection's Jinpachi as prime examples).
3. People who spam the same move that was really effective without any penalty. Kinda like campers in FPS titles as a cheap tactic.
Did anyone talk about this yet? If not, leave feedback on this.

1. The "SNK Boss Syndrome..."
2. Some of the Cheap AI mostly for final bosses, and some characters in CVS 2.
3. To some degree, button mashers.
Basically most of what the last person said.

I hate when people complain about something being to hard or impossible when its really not and there just not very good. This mostly comes in fighting games. I dont play them much anymore, and I never played any of the games you guys are talking about (I was pretty much a SF guy, with MK thrown in at trilogy, and a couple other strange games that I dont even remember the names of, but I remember a lizard being a choosable character.)

The kind of people that would tell you why Akuma pwnz ("COZ IN HIS 3S ENDING HE SINKS A SUBMARINE ZOMG"), why the whateveritiscalledandpleasedon'ttellmeIdon'tcare Clan will be canon in the next whatevergame chapter / sequel and etc.

Over-competitiveness totally kills games. If it's really obvious that someone has never played a character before or if they're trying to go through single player or something, don't fuckin walk up and put your tokens in without asking just because you feel the need to boost your win count. Aggggh I hate that so much.

(Because it's pretty hard to notice that people get aggravated over broken AI and easily-abused game mechanics? I guess what I'm trying to say is, research? What the fuck?)

This doesn't apply to AI, of course. Fuck that.

You should know one of the things you'll have to deal with will be those things. And after all, everytime someone abuses an specific move, he ends up becoming predictable and easily countered (unless the other player sucks, of course).
