Anyone pick this up?

I've played through a few chapters now. It's not bad at all...in fact it's actually a pretty good game for a type of genre I'm not one to pick up so much (shooter-like RTS).

The fact that Vyse and Aika are in there (read: Skies of Arcadia) made me laugh.

Sega is forcing me (again) to buy one next gen console.

Well, I already had planned to buy a PS3 (Disgaea 3 and Yakuza 3 being my main reasons) but Valkyria Chronicles made me say "I NEED A PS3... NOW!"

The graphics alone are wow in this whole thing. It isn't a piss-easy game at all, either; the game makes you think a little bit so at least you have a challenge rather than something that is just there to advance the story.

Actually, the whole thing's just been great so far.

I bought it but I also bought Gears of War 2. So it's going to be on the back burner for a while.

Did sega make it, or just release it. It would be interesting if sega accually made a decent game lately.

I want to say made it. The only two companies I see on it is this and CriWare.

Once again, it's got characters from Skies of Arcadia in it, if that tells you anything.

Skies of Arcadia was good, but so was sonic, samba de janiero, and im sure countless other sega games.

It is actually by the same team that did Skies of Arcadia, which is Overworks. They are otherwise known as Sega AM7. They merged AM7 with WOW Entertainment (Sega AM1) to create Sega WOW. Together, the team is responsible for Phantasy Star, Streets of Rage, Shinobi and House of the Dead.

After spending all weekend playing Gears 2, I finally popped in Valkyria Chronicles. This has to be one of the best looking games I've ever played. Characters right now are a little bland (only got an hour or so of gameplay done) but it's pretty awesome so far.

Feels like they are able to pull off a turned based strategy / real time strategy / first person shooter / role playing game all in one. It's great.
