Yes, Raiden 2 and Fighters Jet, would be extremely awesome.

Anyway, I want kirbys superstar to be out around when I get a Wii because that will kick ass.

| I don't think we are technically supposed to talk about it, but whatever I'm not posting any rom links.
There's 3 (4-5ish including a translation) known SF2 releases.
There is the pre-beta release that is unplayable, and is based off an engine test of starfox1. Nothing is really known about it, except what I just said.
There is an early alpha build that is playable, but its very incomplete and is still based off the Super FX (The 1st one). They did have chibi heads inside the ships which was kinda cool. It was later removed.
Then recently there was a release of source code by an unknown source in 2002 for the completed japanese version of the game. It wasn't gold but it was very close, and it was farther along then what was shown at CES 1995. That game was fully complete, but contained a debug menu and some glitches.
In 2004 it was released after some developers finally figured out the compression used in the game, and was fully playable on zsnes.
Later in '04 there were 2 translations done to the game. The first was a simple translation and the 2nd translated and removed the glitches and debug menus.
So yea for all intensive purposes, Star Fox 2 Final has been released through a mixture of homebrew developers and smuggled out source code.
As cool as it is to be playing Star Fox 2, you'll realize that once you get past all the cool graphics and the strategy war map, the game is pretty bad.

I wouldn't count on an actual port of the SNES game.

I was playing Soldier Blade the other night, and now, I'm hoping they REALLY put this in the Virtual Console, this game just OWNS Super Star Soldier in so many ways, despite it being by Hudson Soft as well.

The ports of Trad/Densetsu are absolutely horrible however.

Wouldn't they make more money to have Super Mario World out on launch day?... | I think Nintendo's mentality is this - pretty much everyone wants the popular titles (Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG and the like), of course. But they don't want to throw them out on launch for a few reasons:
1 - the bugs in the browser and service haven't been worked out. They might be wanting to work some more bugs out before throwing up a hugely popular game that could slow the download service to a crawl.
2 - The Wii is still in limited enough supply that it doesn't really warrant the release of the major VC titles just yet. They may want to wait until after Christmas to set up the major titles, that way people can get familarised with how the system works and will have it hooked up to the Internet.
and 3 - Those are the most popular games, meaning Nintendo KNOWS they will be downloaded and purchased. I think they want to establish the VC with some less well known games first and get people into trying games they haven't played before or games that they remembered playing, but forgot all about. Everyone remembers Mario, Link and Samus. But how many people remember the original Gunstar Heroes? I think it's a marketing move to get people to try out the Virtual Console first without the big name titles and then fill in those gaps later, making Nintendo more money in the long run.

So far the only two games I've picked up are Wario's Woods and Legend of Zelda. I never got to play the original Zelda when it came out, so I picked it up a week or so after I got my Wii. I have to say, that game is still surprisingly fun for being more than twenty years old. (Plus my boyfriend gets to make fun of me for sucking at it so bad. :P )
As for Wario's Woods, all I have to say is that it is the most intense puzzle game I've ever played. There's just so much going on it's hard to keep track of everything. That said, it's still quite fun.
I'm probably gonna pick up Echo at some point. I remember liking that game way back when. I'm just so busy with other games, I don't have time right now.
Lastly, I'm still waiting for Donkey Kong Country 2. I love that game so much.

Super Mario Bros (NES), Street Fighter II (SNES), R-TYPE (TG-16), Toe Jam & Earl (Genesis) and last but certainly not least, SUPER CASTLEVANIA 4 (SNES).
Yeah. It'll be a good Christmas.
