Default Vote or Die: RE4 - GC or PS2

Can't say I've seen the Resident Evil series spoken of too much here, so I was wondering how this would turn out.

Once upon a time, Capcom announced RE4 for Gamecube. There was some rejoicing and some wailing. Later, it was announced for PS2. There was some other rejoicing and some wailing.

Time has passed and anyone that's wanted to play RE4 has pretty much had the chance to do so.

So if you could only choose one version of the game, which would it be?

... oh and if you think there's some ulterior motive for me making this thread, there is.

Of course there is.

The game was very obviously programmed with it being GC only in mind. The PS2 version controls much clunkier and has a few graphical errors in comparison to its original GC version. The PS2 version had the added story stuff and all but honestly, I found that I really didn't care about it all that much.

So yeah, quite obviously the GC version.

I choose the GC version because I thought it was smoother to control. Honestly I didn't think the PS2 version's extras were worth me getting because I was told the control was not as good as the GC version, and I already owned the game.

The PC version is coming out soon with better graphics than the GC version and all the extras of the PS2 one.

But I would say the GC as of now.

Bought it on GC as well when it came out. Hadn't tried the PS2 copy, but as most have mentioned, the PS2 copy has a lot of subtle~minor garphical exculsions/errors and supposed clunkier controls (hadn't tested controls, so I'm not being definite).

On the other hand, having Leon in a fedora blasting baddies with a super gun seems awsome.

Isn't the polls section just for Bemani-related polls? D: Either way it's a game so I don't see why it can't be here.

But the polls section gets a lot less views. Which sucks.

I pick GC version.

I own and have dumped many dozens of hours into both versions. In my opinion there really isn't a point in playing the Gamecube version anymore as the PS2 version has more stuff.

I think the GC version is pretty sweet myself.

The correct answer is Resident Evil 2.

GameCube version is the better of the two in my opinion. Having played both versions, the PS2 version has some neat extras, but those are there to mostly detract player attention from the obvious flaws that the PS2 port has. The graphics are atrocious and it's nearly impossible to control the game.

Again though, just my personal opinion.

It won't eventually, trust me

While you're here why don't you share your opinion on the subject at hand.

For the least amount of time I've played both, I know it was made for GC, and not the PS2. The controls are more easier and controlled better than PS2, and of course the graphics played a major role.

Um, people say the GC version owns but i never played it. GC has a wierd style controller IMO. I have however, played the PS2 version and it was insane. The graphics were nice. PS2.
