Basically, chess by mail except with Advance Wars. It's sort of a mishmash of AW2 and AWDS in terms of play (all the new units and COs are in it, but you can't have two-CO battles or skills, and the weather logic is AW1/2-based), but incredibly fun.
I just brought up this site because it allows me to play against a DS-less buddy while he's out of town and we're not sharing one to play. It seemed cool.

Actually, I lied. XLink doesn't work with DS. There might be another tunnelling software out there for DS, but XLink assuredly does not.
EDIT: I did some google investigation and found this. XLink has had some success with DS tunneling but has long since given it up. DStunnel is our last hope right now.
Ive played it. Its good, However, it is slow. A typical game of Advance Wars with 4 COs can take about an hour and a half. This could take days. However, it lacks little. I just wish it had the older COs from Super Famicom Wars.
