So with all the new Rock Band songs that are being released and seeing as how a bunch of games are getting DLC that take up a lot of freakin' space I'm thinking it's about time to either get an Elite or just get the 120GB HDD. Seeing as how I'm left with 1.9GB on my current HDD.
I'm curious though; Does anyone know how hard it is to transfer all my data from one HDD to the other, and what the odds are of me losing all information due to corruption? Any input would be appreciated.

Hook up wires. Transfer is done.
Or, alternatively, the long way to do it is to redownload your content since if you pay for it once, and your hardware / live account match up, it won't bug you to make you buy it again. | |

I think both the Elite and the HDD come with a transfer cable that will allow you to move your data over. I know the Elite does.

Thing about using the transfer cable however:
You have to have two 360s running at the same time to transfer. So if you don't have that, then well find a friend nearby who will let you have their 360 for a while. | |

if you got no problems with your current 360, theres no real reason to grab an elite. just get a cheaper 120 gigger off ebay and transfer to that.
it took me twenty minutes with a full hdd to finish.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I was debating on whether to get the console or drive. I just couldn't decide. I like the whole black deal but it's not worth the extra money after the trade in. 20 minutes is pretty quick, I was expecting a little longer but, not bad at all.
