God your work is amazing, not pursuing a career in art with your talent would be a waste.

Do you take requests or comissions?

Uh, do I? I don't know. Ask and we'll talk; I have much more free time once school is over in a week.

Me and some friends also organized a blog for us to dump whatever new art or junk we produce. We have some good people on it.

After a big rush from AX, I slowly eased myself back into drawing.
I was working on a Haruhi doujin, but my stuff got cut. I might as well post them here.

It's kind of unnerving how you made shooting one's self in the head look so sexy. I'm not sure whether to feel dirty or not.

Incredible. I thought the Disagaea kunoichi was official artwork at first, truly incredible. That picture alone I believe could easily get you a job as an artist.

I am really curious as to how you get such fantastic line art as well. Is it relatively easy in OpenCanvas to do stuff like thick lines that thin to a point at the end? I've been using some program that comes in Microsoft Tablet PC packs for lineart, but it's not that good or clean looking, and I couldn't figure out anything that works nicely in Photoshop for lineart either.

But yeah, I'm using a Tablet laptop that you can write on the screen. Is using the non-monitor tablets (like the Graphire3) relatively easy to do? I won't be able to keep this laptop as it's just a college-loaned laptop (and I mean they lent it to me, not bought with a loan >.>) and am wondering if I should later invest in a full monitor tablet, or just get one of those.

Most programs like Painter, Photoshop, and openCanvas utilize tablet sensitivity to get those tapered strokes. I just use oC because it's relatively easy to change settings on the fly. Also, a lot of ctrl+z.

I've used tablet PCs before, and there's a lag on them that I find not really suitable for drawing. Normal tablets probably have a wider range of sensitivity and are extremely responsive. The only problem is the detachment from what you see to where you move your hand. It takes more than a while to get absolutely used to it. I've been working with my tablet for a few years and I'm still uncomfortable at times with it.

A starting tablet is a little bit of an investment and I can't recommend it until you really do feel ready that your art can benefit from having one. I thought buying one would make me instantly better, but it took a couple extra years until I could actually get decent results from it.

I haven't figured out how to get pressure sensitivity in photoshop. I figured how to get neat stuff by messing with the flow on the brushes, but if I try line art, everything looks too soft and not hard enough (when I use thin brushes, because they're all airbrush-like) or there's the pencil, which is all pixel-y.

Gonna try openCanvas out though and see how that works.
