This is a segue from left field, but I'd been looking for "The Happiest Monster" animation for like a month, and I couldn't remember where I first saw it. Turns out it was MechaFetus after all. You guys all do fantastic stuff

So I have a question for you EU, How are you able to come up with 'dynamic poses' for lack of a better term, for all of your characters. I'm not able to think of better positioning when I draw, and all of my work comes out very static and boring no matter how much detail and effort I put into it.

I can do my best to answer this one myself - it all comes from practice, and drawing from real life. You can't exaggerate what you don't know the base for, so if you don't know how a REAL human moves and poses then you're going to have a rough time exaggerating the pose and making it dynamic, no matter if it's realistic or cartoon-stylized. Take some figure drawing classes at your local community college or university, or just sit in a park and sketch people. It all comes with time and a lot of persistance

Well, try the opposite then. A fluid pose should be very simply broken down and drawn out quickly. It's funny, since my friend always says my drawings are still stiff as hell (though he's an animation student).
I never took any classes, though I'd sometimes draw my lecturers. What I did start doing a lot of, recently, is looking at reference photos and pictures. It's a long process, but eventually you'll start to just automatically think about weight and movement in a picture.

Thanks. I just got my new tablet in the mail (Bamboo FTW) and through some practice I've already noticed some slight improvement. I suppose I'll just get better over time.

Ok, I haven't been very encouraged to draw much since finals and hit a slump after that. I've been working on this piece for a while, though; inks took forever because of the resolution is stupidly huge.

Oh yeah, and drills, too.

I barely read the manga, so I don't think this really captures the characters.

Though I totally adored this show, it needed more Isaac and Miria.

Revisitng an old design.* I draw him different every time.

Kind of a story behind this one.* Someone drew a character from Shaman King, but I drew over it to be some hideous Parasyte thing.

Heh

Though I don't understand a bit of the artwork though?

Don't get me all wrong though
I'm not saying that it sucks (when in fact it doesn't at all).

It's just that I can't seem to understand the.............meaning of what the artwork is trying to convey.

Or rather, what it's trying to point out to its viewer.

For instance

I can't really tell on what it about or what it means.

So I guess this is an abstract drawing in every aspect?

Maybe the creator (or at least the one who posted the pic can answer this one out)

Hehe

He pointed out that the artwork was done by another artist and he overpainted to convert it into something along the same style as the graphic novel Parasyte. Probably for shock value? Don't look too far into it.

I had a feeling it was from Parasyte... Thanks for clarifying that :B
