Default My animation -Ballad Inure-

I posted this on 6.0, but here it is again...

Ballad Inure

I put my animation up recently on Newgrounds, and my portfolio

Radio Gosha | DENY A MONOCHROME FUTURE | Portfolio of James Franzen | Home

I'm just basically looking for reviews and feedback when I start work on another one. So far I've noted to use lessed fade transitions and have more movement and less tweening. I like to make movies without a storyboard... but maybe it would be good if I started constructing something anyways. Thanks to anyone who watches it.

Definitely less fade. Overall the flash felt pretty boring and I was completely lost. The animation is very good, it just needs better content.

Your overall style is very nice, but from an animation standpoint it's lacking quite a bit. As phillipio said, the fades are way too frequent, and the music doesn't fit with the content well.

Almost the entire flash consisted of motion-tweened still images, which really grated on me, using keyframed animation is really important when trying to convey action correctly. Take notes from the flashes by Sam Bak Za (There She Is!!, etc.) if you're looking for ideas on how to create fluid animation in Flash. Your style of animation is very much Japanese-influenced, so if you really want to push your work in that area, study action scenes from as many Japanese-created works as you can find. You can never find enough source material when it comes to self-improvement.
