Default Question to artists/inkers

What methods/materials do you use for inking? I personally only really work in charcoals and pencils on heavyweight papers, but I've been considering re-making and possibly CG-filling some old versions of my better work, and was wondering how others went about doing the same thing.

Well, for inking, I use black and colored Staedtler pigment liners. They're just like Copic liners and usually come in a pack of 4 sizes(0.1-0.7) for $10 at Staples. For paper, usually I just use regular computer paper since I CG my stuff most of the time and I can just fix the inking on the computer. Sometimes I just draw and ink everything on the computer with my pen tablet, but I find inking by hand much better. No need for heavyweight paper since the pigment liners don't bleed or smudge.

I use Micron fine point pens (from 'Sakura'), normally a 03 and a 005. I also like using brush tip pens for thicker lines. I typically like thicker paper (Canson has some nice sketchpads), but normally when my sketchpad runs outta room, I end up just using printer paper =/

I use Micron pens as well as these ink pens I pick up from a local Japanese store. They have a small cat emblem on them. As for paper, I just use an type of sketchpad marketing as a drawing sketchpad. I usually draw everything out using a fine lead, then ink it all with the micron pens.

When I ink my works I use Staedtler triplus fineliners, dark gray or blue. IMO, those colors are enough dark for inking and, at the same time, aren't as dark as black, so that makes the image more manipulable in photoshop. But I don't really like inking my works :/ it's too much work and majority of times I don't get the results I want. That's why I prefer thousand times:

1) Scan the drawing on pencil and arrange the scan in photoshop or
2) Scan the drawing and then make the line with the pencil tool in photoshop.

I can leave a tutorial of how do I arrange drawings in photoshop, if you and othe people want, it's pretty easy and results are acceptable, I guess~

Not so fond of the PS pencil tool. I know qutie a few people that use Corel/Flash for computer-inking. I do have a tablet, but haven't used it much since breaking my hands- I'm trying to get back into drawing and other artwork. 6 years late, I know, but summer school is so boring.

Also, the heavy paper is for the charcoal. It doesn't stick to computer paper.

Are they NeoPiko's? I love using those.

Normally if I'm going to ink by hand I just use a mechanical pencil and try to get the line as clean and even as possible.

If I'm cging the image, I try to do as much as possibly in open canvas. I just have a huge preference for OC over photoshop for doing things with my tablet.
