Methinks I'm going to try my hand ...
First update:
Anyway, I guess you could say I dabble mostly in semi-realism/painterly styles, only because I'm too damn lazy to do decent lineart through photoshop. I've been attracted to darker themes, only to realize that most people like comics >_>.
So let's see...
I'm heavily influenced by Alex Ross:
I'm also influenced by my childhood obsessions:
...and some current interests XD:
I do fanart when people ask for it... and I think the idea is amazing. You may have seen this image floating around DevArt if you searched really really hard XD:
Another piece of "fanart." The guy wants to make a tattoo of this, so I'm definitely psyched XD:
Unfortunately, I haven't done much Beatmania fanart... in fact, none of my intended beatmania pictures have ever made it to fruition.
Case in point, here's a comparison:
Dark asked me to make him some Shem fanart... Actually, he just said "Why don't you go draw some amazingness in the form of Beatmania!" ... Actually, he didn't say that. I just like hearing things. But anyway, some Shem:
What happened:
I swear to God, things like this just happen when I attempt Beatmania fanart. XD
Once in a while, I'll have some magnificent epiphany.. some kind of...incredible inspiration from the heavens above.
New Pictures: (Updated 04/24/07)
Daft Punk: Guy-Man!

On a sidenote, I proposed to her when she made that Thomas Bangalter fanart.

Welcome to the forums btw.

In fact, it's all done on Photoshop because I'm too retarded to get used to Open Canvas (also because my computer crashes when I use it ). The only reason the last picture may look like actual canvas painting is the brush texture I use ^^. Thank you! | |

Welcome to the forums btw. | Thank you! Coincidentally, the last picture is the most recent, so I'm hoping that by some miracle, I'm actually improving XD.
I'm not great with text, frankly. The God of War text was more of a spur of the moment thing. The Souleater text was added because I couldn't fix the imbalance of space on the Oekaki board without erasing the picture ^^;
Again, thanks! | |

Can't wait to see some more from you.

I also like that you use several different techniques for different pictures, like the cel-like shading for the Invader Zim picture versus the chalk pastel look on the Daft Punk picture. What kind of tablet do you use?

What kind of tablet do you use? | Thank you! I'm glad you like the different styles.. it's so hard for me to get away from the painterly method @_@. In fact, it takes me longer to do a cel-shaded picture + lineart than it takes for me to paint a full picture.
I use a 4x5 Wacom tablet.. it's about.. 5-6 years old now ^^;; This one's user manual still has instructions for Win 95 XD. ! Noisy doll, you go to Rutgers NB too! Which campus are you on?

I actually have an old tablet too; it's the ArtPad II that probably even worked on win 3.1, but the new Mac OS doesn't support it, so I have to look for a new one now.
