Default [BREAKBEAT] Aquatic Ruin (for J.B. mix)

Okay, lets try this again, when I am normal...

Aquatic Ruin (for J.B. mix)

I actually think highly of this... nothing beats my Door into Summer remix from last year...

Alright you seriously need to get over it. We dont care anymore. You're just giving us ammunition to shoot you with at this point. Stop.

On topic, for someone to be just beginning at FL, you seem to have a pretty decent concept of drum programming, so thats pretty good.

I also really love this song. I dont remember which sonic this was on but it definitely brought back some memories from the past.

The intro piano melody is a bit too long for my liking though, and the pads and synth bells you introduce are a little too overwhelming. The kick also doesn't fit really well when the whole song is in motion, and it doesn't help the fact that its going in crazy triplets the entire time. You probably might wanna try looking for a kick sample that is more "full" sounding and just have it going in a more typical breakbeat pattern. I can't really write it out but listen to some actual breakbeat and Im sure you'll see what Im talking about.

Otherwise, to be video game music, this isn't half bad, but again, its video game music.

It's from Sonic 2.

I thought videogame music was chiptune (?), but I thought I was wrong... Is FM still considered VGM?

Chiptunes is actually using the audio hardware of video game consoles to make music.

OH!!! I get it, sort of... How do you do that?

The Chemist: I can call this a cover version, rather than a remix, right?

Well doesn't "remix" generally imply use of audio from the original music? Did you actually use audio from the original at all?

I wouldn't say you had to use audio from the original for it be a remix. If its a reinterpretation of something that isn't yours, thats really all that matters imo. It has to be YOUR vision. Not just a straight midi file. Thats just a different ARRANGEMENT.

That said, Tetris, you aren't making remixes. You are rearranging music that isn't yours.

Which in electronic music is....................

Well

Honestly, Im speechless.

Either way, remixes:

Original: YouTube - Justice - D.A.N.C.E (Version Finale)
Remix: YouTube - Justice D.A.N.C.E. (Justice Remix)

Original: YouTube - Infected Mushroom - I wish
Remix: YouTube - Infected Mushroom - I wish (Brutal remix by Skazi)

Original: YouTube - Linkin Park- Points Of Authority
Remix: YouTube - Linkin park points of authority

Find a vision

Alright down to business.

First off, the intro is boring. It's cool for the first 10-15 seconds, but then it's just annoying. The snare that comes in as a fill was horrible and came it so abruptly, not too mention extremely loud. On the subject of percussion, don't pan the drums into both ears, It can be very fatiguing.

Overall, the EQ was horrid and the remix itself was decent at best. I suggest writing your own music, or at least branch off with your own sections for a videogame remix. Think outside the box.

Thanx for actually listening to it. I am honoured!!

I actually admit that I didn't spend as much time on fixing this as I wanted to, because of the rush of requests I have recieved. I took the easy way out on this, which is something I HATE doing. I also didn't have time to fix some panning issues, because of lack of time. I was actually really disappointed with the outcome of this as well as the person who recieved it *cough*, but nevertheless, I was proud of it enough to post again.

I will remix this song again, in the near future.

After listening to this, I also notice some really bad feedback in the recording. Its a "hiss". I have no idea how youre getting that if youre rendering from FL.

Some synths have a tendancy to do that. And since I was running the piano off of a sample from my electronic one.

Yeah, the intro is a bit boring... I will look into cutting it, next round.
