Hey beatdrop, I have a question for you. Your in the Navy right? Cryptologist? I dont remember your rate.
I want to know if on a 6 month tour, if you ever have time to work on music, Im assuming you have a laptop at least.
And by the way, what ship are you on?

Hot damn. Always great work from Beatdrop.
My only comment is that I would like to hear the intro more epic, or more chill. I think it would make that crazy stutter transition that much more hot since I feel it would be more dramatic.
Beyond that, it's gorgeous. I love it.
Not sure if it's just the headphones I'm using, but it sounds like you've toned down the high frequencies more than usual ..

I also thought it ended pretty abruptly.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | helix: Uh, what? It never returns to the theme in the intro? Might want to listen again, most of the song is comprised of that theme. Right after the intro revs up at the end, it goes into a faster section doing the exact same melody and harmony. And then it goes to it again near the end.
So...

And by the way, what ship are you on? | Actually, I'm not on a ship. My UIC is for shore duty. I work just north of Pearl Harbor, up near Wahiawa. And my rate is CTR.
So to answer your question, I can't answer your question. If I WAS on a ship, I'd most definitely have a laptop, and I'd most definitely have the free time to work on music, and I'd most DEFINITELY keep the motherfucker under lock and key.

... | Must be drowned out by other sounds, or in a different form from the intro, because I'm not hearing it. There's some synth that might be playing the melody from the intro but it's overlapped by so much other stuff I can't tell what it's playing.

I wouldn't worry too much about my laptop, its not like I'll ever be on a carrier. Im an STG and carriers dont have sonar. But that doesn't mean Ill leave the thing lying around. Im not on a ship at this time, but in a few months I will be. They've actually got me up in Newport, RI for C school. After that Im heading off to Yokosuka.

Most of your other sounds are relatively clean- by having that much detune on it, you make it stick out a lot, and the synth itself sounds much dirtier than the rest of the song, lending a dirty feel to what would otherwise be a much cleaner song. All the same, I did enjoy it a lot, and that may have been what you had intended. I also understand what helix means about the stutters, though= when you're stuttering it in the beginning, you're dropping all of the sound out completely, giving it a somewhat empty feel. maybe just leave piano notes with a reverb or something? That would be my advice- feel free to discard it as you see fit. But, keep my congratulations of producing a nice track anyways.

The primary melody is actually being played by a relatively piercing synth. The bass is almost the exact same thing as the bass clef section of the piano, and the backing detuned saw synth is doing the exact same thing as the treble clef side of the piano. Perhaps your EQ on your media player is killing the frequencies of the lead synth...?

It could work if you notch out the frequencies around 900-1400 kHz at about -2 or -3 dB and cut off the high frequencies on it around 10-12,000 kHz+, I've found that works well with heavily detuned saws.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | ... o_O The detuned synth isn't playing the melody... It's playing the harmony...
And negatory. I'm not changing anything. The only thing I MIGHT change is removing the kick and crash from the intro section. Not sure if I like it. Seems out of place. Everything else is just how I want it.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I have to second helix eternal's recommendation. The detuned synths and the drums seem to be fighting for my attention at the same time. The ending also seems kind of flat. I think if you drew it out and made some instruments fade or pan, or even throw some glitchy-stuff in there (you used that style to build into the break to begin with so it can work to move back out from it) the ending might seem more unified with the rest of the song.
