Default Copyright Help

Since I am going to be selling my cd soon. I would like to know if anybody here knows a good place where I could get my songs copyrighted for a good price. Any information you guys could give me, would be very very helpful.

I have a question too. If I copyright in the us, does that cover other countries?

You're already going to start selling a CD? Who are you selling it to, how much will it cost, and where are you selling it?

I think copyright in America only applies to America, but I can't say for sure.

They're called "international copyright laws" for a reason.

EDIT: Anything you do originally is copyrighted to you. If the situation does arrive that you go to court, all you'll need is proof that you are the author of the work.

Music has assumed copyrights. If you create the work, you automatically have a copyright to the material. You can do whatever you want with it so long as it doesn't infringe on the copyrights of other materials.

If you sample something that someone else wrote, you don't have the copyright to the song unless you're given permission to sell it. Usually that's where royalties come into play.

Correct, but you must have proof that you created the music.

Basically, save everything you ever make to a CD/DVD, all files required for it, etc.

Then, toss it in a fireproof safe.

If you want the ultra-hardcore guaranteed-to-save-your-ass-later route.

Congratulations on reiterating everything I had already said.

So... when may I purchase said CD? (Soon? Six months? A year? When DM Ashura releases Astral outside of Bowl-manifest?) Will you accept a check?

And possibly most importantly...

have you improved Splash Beats since the version on FFR? Because I have that version, and I do not feel it is at all indicative of your current talent and skill.

Oh yeah, and we can get back to work with the "Green Poison" thing as soon as my computer's got the internet back. I'll keep you posted.

when? I'm hoping mid october 20058372... I mean this mid october ^^ I kinda just gotta get some album art, and my guy is taking forever <_<. Filterchild is almost done mastering/mixing the songs for me so yea.

A check.. if it is one of those post office cheques I guess (certified cheque I think its called) Other than that, I would prefer paypal. I might increase the charge to 11 for shipping to the US, cause of shipping charges.

And yes, I have improved splash beats. Ive added a new beginning, the overall quality of sounds is improved and Ive added another part to the end. Its about 3+ minutes now I think.

so there we go ^^

What you need to do is make a data cd of all the music and artwork of your cd case and actual cd. Put it in a cd mailing package and mail it to yourself. the post office will mark the date that it was recieved and mail it back to you. then you KEEP IT SEALED until someone tries to claim your work as theirs. Have the judge open up the sealed package and there is your copyright.

Go 'Introduction to Graphic Design' class!

Shipping to the US?

Oh wait, Canadia. Right.

So, Mid-October, then. I think I can scrounge up $11 by then.

So there we go. ^_^

haha nice.
hmm about demo's I'll see what I can do. I think I can spare a few clips of a song or 2. Once they are mastered, which should be in a couple of days hopefully.
