Default CRAZY

I made a song using FL Studio 6, and it's not really much, but I think this is the most decent song I have ever created with it.

It's respectively titled "CRAZY"! Made by JK, which is my musical pseudonym.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41142293/ - Here's a music video I made from it.

- Interesting song that sounds like drum and bass
- Parts of the song sound like the Australian instrument that you put in front of your lips and twang the metal rod (forgot what it's called)
- The song doesn't really sound "crazy"
- For some reason, the video seemed to enhance to song.

Oh my God. Man, if you improve the percussion and add like, a bassline, you've got yourself some kind of funky shit going.

What the hell. lol

I agree with GOD.
And it sounded dry. (not a lot of effects like reverb going on - i juz cant hear it.)
Maybe add a melody line too?

Shouldn't be too difficult since you're using FL aint it? =)

I don't know the Australian instrument either, and I put CRAZY only because I saved the FL file as CRAZY. (Didn't bother to change the name. Thought it would stick well to the masses.) I used a flanger on a drumloop, if that's what you think you're hearing.

Yeah. I was really minimal with the song, unfortunately. Only 12 patterns were used on FL Studio.

I really DID feel like adding some reverb, only it didn't feel right when I applied it (guess I gotta tweak it a little). I never really thought of adding melodies, seeing that I was only paying attention to the drum samples I could use.

This song was inspired by Akira Yamaoka's 250bpm song. You could tell because of the ending. Also, LOOK OUT FOR A 1-FRAME-LONG SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE ON THE MUSIC VIDEO. Hint-hint: yyyy

Oh yes, that twangy instrument I was referring to is a Jewish Harp.
BTW did you intend to make this song minimal? Or did you just not want to spend more time with other stuff?

Sounds very freaky. :D
May I get the flp file? I'd really love to work something out with this.

Considering that it's under 'Demo Time' on MySpace, I say it was obviously intentional that the song was minimal. It's really divided into three parts, according to the waveform on Audacity and WavePad.

Sure, but keep in mind that the flanger I used for the drumloop can produce different results on the outcome of the music.

There are two instruments that you will need that I used on this project:
Extra Samples > Drums > roland 606 > sd.wav
Extra Samples > Drums > 909 > bd2.wav

Unless you have these files (from the Generic Samples on SampleFusion, I assume), the project may not be complete. You can PM me if you don't have said sound files so I can e-mail them to you.

Oh, yeah. The FLP file. I'll e-mail (in which I still need to find out. PM, anyone?) you the FLP file, in which you are free to remix!

So you know, you can save the FLP and all associated samples in a single zip package by doing File->export->zipped loop package or alternatively File->save as-> and then select the option as saving it as a .zip. These are commonly referred to as fl.zips and are the east and most widely used way of giving a project to somebody else. These files are also what people are generally referring to when they say "can I have the FLP". Just thought you might like to know that.

Your friendly resident music professional,
Red

I haven't listened to the song, but are you thinking about a jaw harp (also called jew's harp) it sounds like bing boing bong boing boing boing etc.
I used to have one of those, they're actually really easy to play but if you hit your teeth with the twanger it hurts like the dickens.

You are, however, not always friendly. Besides, you are only just barely more pro than I am, and we are both pros.

(edit) I am a professional, you are a prostitute. In case you didn't catch the reference

Alright, I think I'm done with the first version.
JK - CRAZY (aurae remix)
BPM 125-190
Enjoy (at least I did while doing this song)!

(I used monomate and Vanguard plus some Jihnsius drum samples. If you want the flp, just let me know.)
