I've been up working on this for the past three nights and I haven't uploaded anything here in a while. It's about time.
This is a remix for my friend's coming album. The original artist is "The One Electronic". This is mostly original work, but it is a remix because I sampled the original's percussion (as a small piece of my own percussion arrangement) and used a reinterpretation of the original's melody.
The original can be heard here: The One Electronic - Rithum
The original track was a lighthearted tune reminiscent of video game music. I shredded it into a psychedelic IDM acid thrash track of some kind.
I hope you have good bass response.
(Disclaimer: colossal bass may swallow other audio when played loudly on crappier sound systems. I prescribe new speakers.)
finally got around to listening to it, and the original.
There's definitely a ton of new content added in. I can very barely hear the original melody but i do hear the percusion sampled from the original. I wish I could hear the melody more, though, it was cute and fun!
As a piece on its own it's very good. I can tell you paid a lot of attention to detail, the percussion is absolutely fantastic.
The multiple percussive distortions are interesting. I think the melody that starts at 1:53 is too loud in comparison to the first part of the track, but it's a cool fucking melody. It just gets better and better too, very nice track especially considering its your first with a new medium. Thanks for posting it
while the vocals still sound a bit dry to my tastes, your synths are amazing (as always)
they have a wonderfully distinct sound and all fit together perfectly
this is a very cohesive remix, genre names and particulars aside
would have been cool to see it get a little more intense during the dnb sections and the dubstep bits used more as breakdowns and bridges, but, as it stands, i still think it works quite well
